Can't speak for Rum but I don't think it's so much about the social media aspect of it as it is the situations he's putting himself in.

Some high profile men won't even allow themselves to be alone with a woman in a closed room, much less fly a woman from Atlanta to Houston to meet in a hotel.

For that matter, if you're wanting a massage, why not go to a Massage Envy or something like that rather than meeting people alone in situations like this where rumors are possible?

Pandemic considerations? Okay, but that doesn't prevent you from having other people around so that you can establish what happened and what didn't. According to the complaints, Watson asked to clarify that the masseuses would be alone.

Again, none of this absolutely says that he's guilty of the accusations. But Rum is right. Better judgment could have kept him out of this.

Yeah, Mike Pence is a certified gump, but he gets that part right at least.  Never alone in a room with any woman except Mother.

At my last job, we had a policy for like the last 5 years that all doors had to be open in your office if a female was in there alone.  I thought it was overkill but I see the point

Would you have preferred a text saying "hey sorry I slapped you with my dick; we cool?"

Not sure where you’re going with this one I’m just saying rapists do that. That text in isolation says nothing to me though. If he’s sent similar to others that will at least confirm a pattern of unwanted advances.

I worked for a large corporation for nine years and was a manager there for seven. One of the first things they taught us was if you were going to be in an office with somebody of the opposite sex you had to have another person of that same sex in there with you or you needed to have the door completely open.  It seemed way over the top but it helped avoid situations where one party could claim something inappropriate was going on to get out of trouble.

Or better yet just use a guy to do it.

They are stronger and can get deeper into the tissue.

No way in hell would I hire a woman in his situation.

Its looking more and more than Watson was not hiring these women to really give him a massage.  I mean, yeah thats the pretext for getting them to come out, but its likely understood that it is going to be a sexual transaction.  Im guessing all of these women are all young and extremely hot....

Yes but also obvious that these women provide those additional services but now looking to cash in

This says a lot about his decision making.

No, it doesn't. It says a lot about how little some folks on here understand how the younger crowd lives these days. It's not what I would have done at age 37 either, but it's also not something that should be considered incriminating for a 25 year old today and I imagine it's more common than you would think among younger players these days.

Your argument is like if an Uber driver accused Watson of assaulting them saying "it's irresponsible of him to use uber instead of driving his own car." It's 2021; things are done differently now, especially among younger people.

As I've said, it's entirely possible Watson is guilty of wrongdoing here, but there is nothing in the texts released so far that is truly incriminating. Add that to the behavior of this lawyer (not to mention his history of shady tactics and outright lies regarding cases) and there is at least as much reason to be skeptical as there is to be leery of these accusations.

Certainly the fact that he used Instagram to set up massages is not a reason in and of itself to be suspect.

I half-way have a feeling that he could've been "accidentally" slipping up in front of them hoping one might offer other "services".

Check his browsing history for "massage" videos. Maybe that's his kink.

At the time it seemed silly but yeah man thats a great policy to have.

He flew random women in from different places and met them in hotels.  That is incredibly telling about his decision making.  If you dont see that and play the "younger generation" angle then thats on you man

Yeah...that's not obvious at all.

There was a post (I think in this thread) from a guy talking about what it takes to become a licensed massage therapist. It was pretty good information.

This post is dumb as hell and completely misses the point that some of us were saying.

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
