The way he apologized immediately over text in a very polite way to that one girl makes me think yeah, he crossed the line somehow but also tells me he isn't the type of guy to force oral sex on a woman. Those types of people don't apologize.

Unless the apology is just ass covering.

I'm sure if the juice were your wife or daughter you would think differently.

I have an ex wife. A daughter and a girlfriend. I’d like to think I’d raise my daughter well enough that she doesn’t put herself in those situations. She’s too young for dating but when she gets to that age she will understand the power in the word no.

I still can't believe people are talking about the idea og the Texans doing this to get him to play for them.

"We've trashed your reputation and possibly ruined your career. Now play for us!" Yeah, good strategy 😳

If they had wanted to blackmail him, they would have threatened to release all this stuff behind the scenes. If they had wanted to hurt him, they would have gone ahead and traded him for the biggest trade deal they could get, then let out what happened.

These scenarios some people are suggesting would be like someone releasing embarrassing photographs of a public figure, then coming to them afterward and saying "now pay me not to publish those".

It isn't about getting him to play for them. Duh. I don't think many people with a brain are taking that angle or arguing that.

If there is any conspiracy involved on the part of Houston, it is about ruining him for holding them hostage and attempting to force their hand.

"I won't play for Houston anymore. Trade me."

"We're not trading you. Sit out the season then."

"Okay sounds good. I'll do it again and again until you trade me, and trade me somewhere I want to go."

"Okay then we'll make it hard for you to ever play football for anyone again."

Was it not a poor decision to proceed with the session? To not report it right away? Both can be true.

Sexual harassment and assault victims often wait to report.  As to proceeding with the session, we don't know the timing of the encounters.  There is the one case where the masseuse saw him a second time, but in all the others we have no idea on how the situations were handled in the moment.

How do you know he didn't ask for glute work and then accidentally fart in her face when she was doing the requested work?

What you're taking out of the context says more about you than it does Deshaun Watson.

So if one of them came to you with one of the situations your first reaction would be that she was making this up for fame or money?

Will she understand that the word no doesn't magically stop sexual assault?

I just get the feeling the truth is in the middle somewhere. Was he less than appropriate with some and should he pay them for it? Yeah probably. Did he rape anyone? I find that very hard to believe. Opportunist lawyer taking some truth and using it to make much bigger and false implications in a money grab.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
