Panthers trade for Sam Darnold

Some people just wanted something to feel slightly positive about and others were just blind. I figured with his arm he had to be a marginal improvement over Teddy Checkdown but then we got a look at the Sam Darnold turnover machine Jets fans had become very familiar with. All along my preference was the draft to address the position. If there is any silver lining with this it's the fact that fans are no longer buying into this snake oil salesman routine by Matt Rhule and Scott Fitterer. They got the red carpet treatment early on which I cautioned against now the knives are out in every direction.

LOL Yikes.  I sure stepped on my dick on that one.  I admit I was completely wrong.

Yeah....this is after Slater had what I believe was the highest rated rookie LT season of all time or some poo.  Rhule is such a damn clown.

Yeah picking up that option was something.  Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

I mean you can't give up a 2nd and 4th for a one year rental alone, unless you need a LT or something and are definitely making a super bowl run. They screwed themselves the moment they offered the 2nd rd pick for a project/gamble

Yes, once they gave up half a draft for Darnold (puke) the 5th year option was going to happen.

    • New season new teams. Everyone we face has improved their team as well. There's now a full season of tape on Canales's offense and Bryce running it. When they win 7 games I will become a believer.
    • I mean I think its a bit disingenuous to call basically anyone here a casual fan. I don't think the casual fan creates a profile then logs into it, in the offseason, to comments on mundane offseason topics.. I dont think anyone on here would be considered a casual fan. That said, I get your point. My POV is from the player. They sign this contract, move their family because of these contracts. When Clowney came him, we basically had a coming home party for him.  So yeah, I get why we did it and I know that ultimately the owner doesnt 'save' money, but I can feel for the human side of the player, which is why I want them to get all they can while they can.
    • My guess is the NBA will either send Flagg back “home” to the Northeast in Brooklyn or Washington, or San Antonio so that they can keep building around Wemby. If I was a betting man I would take the odds on the Spurs. This definitely feels like a #1 pick that they will rig.
