Spent time watching all of Darnold's throws over the past three years. My conclusion...

Dunno. I saw him underthrow a lot of long balls.

Arm strength is fine. He doesn't set his feet a lot and tends to hop around the pocket. He also doesn't step into a lot of throws. He started doing this his last year at USC. He had historically had lazy footwork.

You're probably right. I'm really disappointed in the direction the team has taken since Tepper bought the team. We went from having Cam Newton playing some of his best football in early 2018 to having to find a way to be excited about noodle-armed Teddy Bridgewater and former Jets QB bust Sam Darnold. It's a far cry from the badass teams the Panthers fielded in the 2010s.

Really makes it hard to get excited for next season.

There is zero excitement for me next season, just like last season. Hopefully the draft adds some life to this corpse of a franchise. It's like Weekend at Bernie's at this point.

Also Tepper looks completely out of his element in the NFL. Dude hid behind Ron and Marty, then kept Marty like a blanky. He will make money either way so there is still hope he can keep caring and actually improve and not be a bad owner.

I'll admit to not seeing Darnold's entire career.  What I have seen impresses me. His pocket presence. His arm strength. His accuracy.  His decisions under duress.

I'm an old guy now, and have been a football fan my whole life.  I'm know what makes a good QB and doesn't.

Darnold has the talent, and skillet. I've seen enough of him to be excited about watching our offense.

A lot to be excited about.

We didn't give up so much for him, should the negative Nancy's be right for a change, that the team can move on easily.

After researching myself, I've come to the conclusion that Sam Darnold = David Carr.

Carr was 28 when he came here and was in the beat down factory for 5 years..

Sam Darnold is 5 years younger and hasn't spent nearly that much time getting destroyed.

    • In January 2014, I posted this on another forum.  Seems like it fits again:   Do you remember cheering for the rain? Trying to sleep after “The no-call”? Do you know who needs to "Ice up, son"?   Remember pleading for .500? Thinking there’s no catching the Saints? Punting to Buffalo and knowing how it was going to end?   Do you remember how you felt about Kalil’s ad? Or the fan’s follow up? Gruden’s interview with Cam?   Do you remember Clausen being the steal of the draft? Will you ever forgive Mel Kiper?   Did you cry as Jake said his goodbyes? Do you remember the game that cost Gruden his job?   As fans chant “Luuuuuuke,” do you still hear “Moooose”? … “Hoooove”?   Do you recall changing the diaper? Paddling the boat? Being happy just hearing the name Smoot?   Do you recall the day when it hurt to say “Keep pounding,” and you felt you’d lost a close friend?   Did you hunt the net for Bojangle’s commercials? Have you seen a Cajun’s bare butt?   Do you remember the sunken feeling when Smitty was caught from behind and didn’t get up?   Sports Illustrated’s prediction?   Were you angry at Janet for stealing the spotlight? Does “X-Clown” still give you chills? Do you sing the wrong words to “Day-O”? Whenever you hear “He Hate Me,” do you also hear Rosinski finishing the sentence?   Did you like Seifert a little less when he let Walls’ streak of games-with-a-reception end? But nothing compared to letting Steve go, right? Do you remember that invincible feeling you had when we won the first game of 2001? Do you recall who our division rivals were?   Do you remember thinking “Just wait ‘til Bazooka’s healthy”? How about that weird grin you got watching Kevin Greene fire up the D? Or being undefeated at Ericsson?   If your answer is “no,” we happily welcome you as a new fan of our beloved team. Trust me, we’ll be happy to explain all of these and more to catch you up. For the rest of you, it’s been entirely too long since we were alive after week 17. But every question that you answered “yes” to makes this all the sweeter. Welcome to the playoffs.
    • Future considerations......     DUE to several high dollar players spending time on IR the canes have    37M in trade deadline cap space.....
