Trade back question

So how many of the top 100 prospects do you think could legitimately start for us next season? If we traded back once or twice (if we had partners I know) and could add top 100 picks, could we possibly get 4-5 starters or significant contributors and would that be worth it?

I think we could easily get Two OL starters and two DBs at least. Not sure if that’s more of a commentary on our current talent, or value in the draft

I've been saying for a long time that if Sewell is gone by 8 and any team between 9 and 15 want to trade, I say go for it and take O-line with our 1st 2 picks.

I know that I am excited to see an active trading draft like Fitterer learned in Seattle.  Really excited for this draft for the first time in forever.

Trading back in the first twice makes sense for cap reasons.  What we pay rookies in the 2nd compared to signing free agents would be considerably less.

What if.....We traded back and got Slater, and then another tackle in the 2nd. And the 2nd tackle became starter and Slater became guard. Profit!!

If you stay in the top 15 you are getting a starter. I see people talking about getting some day one starters in the second round. Doesn’t usually work that way. Take the top talent at 8 and run.

The only way we should trade back is for multiple first round picks.  Honestly, I don't really like the idea of trading back at all.  At pick eight, there are going to be multiple nailed on starters at positions of need sitting there.  You don't trade that away for anything less than a kings ransom.

It depends how far you trade back. That's a lot to ask if you trade back to the Cowboys. But if you trade with someone like Pittsburgh, that's nothing.

I think this is the last draft we really have an advantage with Rhule and his college insights.. I think getting more picks in this draft makes sense.

I think 2nd and 3rd rounders for us this year are like gold if we can get more.

So Im into trading back.

There are a lot of top 100 that could start for the Panthers in 2021.....the problem is who is available at your picks that also carry the value of that draft position.

Trade down a few spots and get an extra 2nd or 3rd pick .  Select Parsons (MLB) our first (a top 10-15 pick) .  Take Leatherwood (LT) with our first 2nd rounder .  With our next 2nd or 3rd take a QB (Monds or MIlls ) (we will need a backup QB) .  Pick a guard or CB with our next 3rd .  We have now fixed our O-line and our future MLB . We have a backup QB to develop .  Pick BPA with the rest of our draft .
