Just a question for clarity.....why is Micah Parsons, who is the most talented defensive player in the draft not in the 1st round at all?

This guy has to be nuts to think Parsons is falling out of the top 15!!!!!!

Crazier things have happened. A lot of people have seemingly forgotten about the off-field concerns.

I'm super curious to see how much players are going to be punished for sitting out.

We won't know until Thursday.

Yep. Elite talents with no significant question marks will still go high, but other guys? Yeah, I could see some teams questioning their love and dedication to the game. I don't necessarily think that's fair, but I think it's reality.

Great point.  No season, no combine---flyin blind.

This is why a player like Walker Little could be such a steal if he falls to the third.

We could also give him Little’s old number and watch defenses get surprised when he actually blocks them.

Parsons has very legitimate off the field concerns and plays a position of little value. It’s not crazy at all.

Yeah the first person a QB identifies when he goes into his pre-read of the defense has little value... Luke was such a overrated bust.

It's about defensive alignments and blocking assignments. The "mike" isn't always the MLB given the defense's alignment on a particular play.

3. San Francisco 49ers
Mac Jones, QB, ALA
Nat's notes:  I have been saying this since they traded up, Mac is the guy. Internet scouts (including me) severely underrate the level at which he played QB this year. The more tape you watch on him the more it makes sense. Mac Jones is the #3 QB on multiple boards, including ours.

I've been beating this drum for a while now, but yeah, Jones is the third best QB in this draft and a guy I thought we'd try hard for. Darnold makes this tougher, but if Jones should happen to get past San Fran and falls, I still think we pick him up.

If not, Sewell/Slater is definitely the long term best move.

I don't understand the hate he got early in the draft process and has been getting since.

I'm an Auburn guy and I've watched him play (and succeed) for years and, as far as I'm concerned, he has always looked top-notch.

I think it’ll be more than people expect. Not bashing anyone for doing it but when you’re making multi-million dollar decisions, that extra year of experience and tape matters.

Patrick Surtain II - 6'2" 208 pound boundary CB with a 4.4 40 time and excels in short space. Equally solid in coverage as he is against the run. Bloodlines from all-pro CB father.

Jaycee Horn - 6'1" 205 pound versatile CB with a 4.37 40 time. Confident and a ballhawk....Kyle Pitts said he was the top CB he faced. Bloodlines from pro bowl WR father.

Either of these guys, though not an OT or QB, would go a long way sealing a tremendous positional weakness in a division loaded with talented pass catchers..... Pitts could be in ATL soon too.

Either of these two CBs are in a tier above what Bradberry was. I want Sewell or Pitts and would be equally happy with Slater at 8.

However, there is a lot of depth at OT that can find a very, very good starting LT in R2. Draft can fall a number of ways and a guy like Jenkins falls. Radunz, Leatherwood, Eichenburg, and the kid from Northern Iowa would all be valuable gets at 39.

Sidenote, I do think David Moore will turn heads for folks this year at WR. Only 26 years old, he is, IMO, a younger more athletic Jerricho Cotchery.

My ideal first three rounds:

8 - Penei Sewell

39 - Eric Stokes

73 - Wyatt Davis

I would be willing to pass on Eric Stokes and take Grant instead if he’s there. Would still take a corner in 3-5 range.

If you have a win it now team with everything in place (which San Francisco does) he's  the surest bet. He might end up not being the greatest of the batch down the road, but he's going to be the best one of them under center on opening day this season.

People call him Matt Ryan, as if it was a slur. As much as I don't like the Falcons, even I have to admit that Ryan has been excellent there and he's eaten our lunch more times that I want to admit. If you can get a guy and he performs at Matt Ryan level for that many years, you've had a successful draft pick.
