I was literally talking to my buddy about this today. What if the Panthers went with the original concept design as a throwback before we re-design the unis and will have legit throwbacks.

You got to follow this up, is that a real panther prototype or just one of the 700 High school panther helmets??

Surprised the NFLPA is going along with this. New helmets = way higher chance of injury and concussions.

?????

New helmets come out every year.  I have no idea how often they need replaced, but players change helmets on occasion.  Change brands/models.  There is even linemen specific helmets now which was a big deal this past year.  I imagine a bunch of oline and dline guys switched to new helmets last year because of that.

I'm honestly pretty lost as to what you are talking about.

What I mean is switching helmets mid season. It’s the reason they didn’t do special helmets with the color rush scheme. I guess now that there’s a new CBA that’s why they are doing it.

I understand.  I learned something.  Though, that seems like it was a silly rule.  I mean, helmets have to be broken in at the beginning of the year.  It took nine years to figure out that a second helmet could be broken in after the first?  I imagine it just has to be worn a certain amount before I could be used in live action.

    • That zone was so soft that 3 guys were bearly on the screen. No rushing called. Playing off the line 10+ yards. Yeah that's garbage time. It took an onsides kick to make them try to play D again. Until then they didn't care and still wouldn't play real D against Young until they absolutely had to and that was with backups in the backfield. Slow start is freaking hilarious. He was gifted the lowest effort a bad team can give and still couldn't put anything together for 1 freaking series at the end after 2 quarters of warmup ball. It was like watching someone stretching for an hour and then pull a hammy after 10 feet of running.
    • On the subject of Reich and him being no good as a coach, because he wouldn’t change everything he did to accommodate Young. He wanted to sit Young. He knew what Young was.  But to the point, was Andrew Luck a good QB under Reich in Indy? Most people don’t hesitate to say yes. Well, Luck thought enough of his coaching to bring him to Stanford.  There is a bona fide NFL QB that seems to dispute the painting of Reich as a incompetent and the reason for Young’s shortcomings.  Yes he got fired. It appears as if Tepper and Fitterer forced a QB he did not want on him and poisoned the well right from the start. I don’t blame Reich one bit for being pissed either.  And I wasn’t a Reich guy I wanted Wilks. I accepted the Reich hire but never lobbied for him.  Just saying he is being dogged here unfairly.
    • I think its a mix of both. Bryce being too small and offense is too vanilla. Plays arent creative enough. Most are slants, fades and runs. But even Baker and Sam had to deal with vanilla offense and looked horrid. Thats why I say it's a mix of both.
