Question...what if P.J is better then S D?

How long a leash will they give S.D if he is struggling? Half a season? The entire season? P.J is the only option if they have to look elsewhere. Grier is not an option.

Will the coach pull the plug if the starter isn't working out?

As terribad as Teddy was last year, Walker only got to see the field when Teddy was injured. I expect the same scenario this season.

I think as long as he's healthy then Sam Darnold is the qb all season.  If hes not the answer then I'm fairly sure they dont think the answer is on the roster.  So far our approach at qb feels a lot like Tepper and his making his fortune on hedge funds.   Their method to find a qb so far seems to take flyers on low risk potentially high reward shots.  If they dont pan out in their first season then they didnt give up that much and arent especially tied to them for more than a year or two and if they hit on one then they didnt give up much and have a good young qb.  The downfall being it can potentially basically mean they are almost throwing away seasons on an individual basis but they are also adding more and more pieces to surround the eventual qb of the future.  Hopefully its Darnold.

I said it in the game thread yesterday...  I think PJ is one of those guys who don't look great on practice, but for some reason, he flips a switch when it's an actual game.  It's probably got a lot to do with why he excelled in college and the XFL, but has struggled to find footing in the NFL (that and the competition level as well).  But, he has shown some great things when he has been given the opportunity to play.  I don't count the New Orleans game last year bc they were beating the breaks off of us altogether.

The entire season, only because the staff refuses to address the elephant in the room.  PJ on his best day is no better than Darnold and then there's that clipboard guy.

PJ didn't look like the answer last year. They made their bed with Darnold. If he's terrible, it's time to lie in it. Keep trotting him out there and let him deliver a high draft pick. It is what it is for this season. We've chosen to ride with Darnold, so ride on whether it's great, good, bad, or ugly.

Sorry but PJ isn’t the answer either in his two games he threw 1 td and 5 ints people are overreacting about what he did yesterday. We need a backup and if we keep three he would be a good third string that’s it!

Yup, you just restated the same thing I said yesterday after the game regarding our QB situation.

True, and if Darnold goes down, rinse and repeat...just insert the name Walker instead of Darnold.

    • there is one common denominator in the 2003 & 2015 Carolina Panthers teams they both had ELITE top tier Qb play.  it would require a MVP type of season from Bryce Young to have the same type of success that Jake Delhomme had in  2003 & or Cam Newton in 2015 & lead this team to a SuperBowl is this going to happen or is there any reason to believe Bryce Young is capable of playing similar to Jake Delhomme in 2003 or Cam Newton in 2015 ? well no there is no absolutely NO reason whatsoever to believe that this is going to happen in 2026 ..just saying
    • I'd actually like to see Cherelus get a fair shot to win the job in camp. Wallace is decent in drop zone coverage, but he gets abused in the play action game and is often times out of position in the run game. It might just be me, but I swear every time I watch Wallace play, I see multiple plays a game were it looks like he's just trying to be blocked. Watching Cherelus last year he at least looked like he was trying to hit someone on every play. Wallace plays like a LB who doesn't trust what he sees and it makes him passive and cautious versus Cherelus who regardless of if his decision is right or wrong goes at it 100%.
    • Agreed.  Hasn’t happened to me either, but I feel very strongly about it.  That’s not just one of the worst things a woman could do to a man, it’s a power inherent to only women and is one of the worst things a HUMAN being can do to another.  A man can’t “hide” a pregnancy or maternity.  It’s impossible.  And that sucks for anyone that has to go through that. I always got a weird vibe off her and just found her very unlikeable.  Annoying even.  I’ve always been good at reading people and there was just something about her to me that was off-putting, somewhere under the surface.  And here we are…  she is despicable.
