Penei Sewell

As I repeatedly said - I never understood the 'generational' athlete hype that surrounded him.

He doesn't have elite length for an OT. He also hadn't played for a year at that point.

He's talented, but raw as hell - he's one to judge two years from now. I could see him ending up at OG when it's all said and done.

He changed positions and hasn’t played in basically 2 years.

Rum has it figured out. I thought Sewell was going to be there at 8, that was after all the hype died down.....honestly my hype died also after it was reveled about his 33' arms. I still want him, cause we still need a LT. I say if he was the true one in 10 year LT, hed be playing LT. What I heard is the loins wanted Waddle, but phins took him one before. They already invested the #3 overll pick on a CB the year before and traded for Goff. Sewell was the best remaining player, cause no DLmen was near his talent. Maybe the panthers should have offered a 4th ot something to flip picks. The draft is wild and Im just freesylting maining here.

Truth is the Lions saw the value and couldn't let him slip any further, on the flip side he was a risk in that situation because he missed an entire year and is being asked to play every position except the one he knows. Will he bust? Idk, but to not expect him to struggle given the situation is asinine.

Damn.  I'm usually proud of my eye for talent, and to be fair, I didnt watch a ton of stuff on him prior to the draft, but I felt certain he was the safest pick out there.  His stats on not giving up a sack were just incredible...  this is surprising.

Youre better than this rush to judgement..... the BARE minuim should to give him until the start of his 2nd full off-season.

The huddle has gone mad with the PS judgements.... sad turn of events.

I just meant in terms of him struggling early.  It obviously is not the final word on his career, I expect he'll still be good.  Just saying I'm surprised that 1) they switched him to RT, and 2) that he is struggling at all.  Just didn't expect it, but he's got plenty of time.

I dont look to much into this left and right thing. If you are an elite tackle you can play both.

If that were true more guys would be able to do this but its usually a drop-off in performance to move anyone out of their normal position. Also, he is a rookie who didn't play the year before. There is definitely going to be an adjustment period.
