Teams needing a long snapper

I don't think people realize that the long snapper position basically got a reprieve because of progressive rule changes. If you have a good long snapper, there is no reason to get another long snapper unless your guy gets injured or retires. Turns out....we actually have one of the best long snappers in the NFL. Yet we want to jettison him for a guy that keeps making bad snaps in camp and preseason games.

I'm sticking with Jansen because we need continuity more than youth with our new kicker.

Secondly, He solid and let's face it.  It's not like he has to make the tackle on the punt team.  If we are relying on him for the tackle on the punt team we're screwed.  35 is not old for a LS.  

If we can't trade Fletcher than make him one of our PS players.  We get 16.

I don’t know how good Fletcher is, but if it’s close I would give JJ the choice.

He can stay here with his Fam or go to a contender with familiar faces. Good deal either way.

I believe he has only had 1 or 2 bad snaps in his career. IIRC his last one was almost a decade ago.

Fletcher never had a bad snap in 3 years at Bama. If there ever was a time to make a change, this is it.

Have a memory of hearing it. But tried to find the source a few weeks ago without any luck. 

If there were any truth to that, then go with the young guy if he has been ok. Doesn't need to be perfect his first year, the team aren't contenders. Rather have a rookie this year than any of the next coming years.

It's a long snapper, man. Long snappers don't put points on the board directly. 

If Fletcher becomes a 15+ year career long snapper.....we can find another one of those in the next couple of years in the UDFA pool.

I listened to an interview and he doesn't sound like a guy that wants to be retired to me.

This isn't the same regime that jettisoned Butler.  In this case going with experience makes sense.
