can't go by stats alone.   they never tell the actual  story. 

He barely played and had a INT.  The pass was great.  Like a 40 yard laser that the WR let a defender strip from him. 

Cam had a good preseason.

Wherever he goes they will either learn the hard way or limit his pass attempts as the season goes on. That's been the question all along. His arm hasn't lasted a full season since what 2017? But if Cam wants a shot at a starting gig covid protocols are going to limit his viability anywhere he goes with his current status.

It didn't help him any to not be vaccinated.

His best days are behind him, but he may have saved his ass from being cut if he wasn't an unvaxxed liability (don't forget that can result in a game forfeit and Bellicheck aint having it) that was having "misunderstandings" and being a further pain in the ass.

Yeah it does, especially when you have the future behind you, bill wasn’t willing to risk losing his starting qb at any moment because of not being vaxxed, Mac took 0 reps with the 1’s in preseason, while playing in the 4th in all the preseason games, that’s indicative of someone you want to start

So there was a lot of dinking and dunking, but that’s the right thing to do in that situation.  Week 1 pass chart doesn’t look bad. He pushes the ball downfield more than several other quarterbacks I’ve watched. For some reason the huddle thinks other quarterbacks are constantly throwing 60 yard bombs. That is absolutely not the case. Some quarterbacks aren’t taking any deep shots at all.

      We keep referring to it as Over drafting him like he was really a first round draft pick. We traded up at the end of the first to get him in a deal with Buffalo so that we could grab him and get an extra year on his contract if needed. At the time that sounded like "If he really soars, we can get that fifth year extension automatically". It really probably meant, "We might need five years to really get him up to starting WR speed."  He was basically a second rounder with a potentially meaningless pick as well to pay for those rights. Still, I think that with him we are on the Kelvin Benjamin bubble right now... will he ever be more than just an athlete? Can he really learn to fight and compete for that ball? Can he learn professional routes? Can he handle the fame and more money than he's ever seen in his life? Can he handle all of the pressure a fanbase puts on him? Tough shoes to fill. Not sure I'd want to be in them. I hope he gets it all together soon. A lot, most draftees, can't. Good luck and God bless to the young man. He's got a lot of work to do in a very unforgiving workplace.

      This is the #1 reason I defend Bryce. Everyone around him is learning on the job, including him. But hey in 3 years we could have a talented offense that grew up together.
