Metrics dont tell the whole story, i clearly said considering all the FACTORS of the game. You switch qbs on the teams and we probably still win with wilson. Darnold just didn't separate himself that much today overall. Thats how i see it.

All good. Respect your opinion and hope that Sam can clean up a few issues and ball out.

I really do believe Wilson’s day was just as impressive as Darnold’s, if not more. I understand Darnold did better in the stat sheet, but Wilson balled. We were in his face all day long. Great job for a rookie’s first game and down by 16. Gotta give the dude some probs, made some big throws like the one where he was standing in the end zone. I don’t think there problem was ever QB tho.

He won't last long in the NFL if he has many more games like that.

Six sacks, three of which were huge hits.

Keep this in mind, me saying Wilson outplayed him doesnt mean darnold was bad. He was good today, if it wasnt for the second half he would have been great. He missed some throws he should have made. If he cleans that up he will be fine.

I agree that people should be happy with the win, but to be fair this was the "lowly" Jets and the Panthers struggled in the second half. It's fair to point out issues that people see.🤷‍♂️

Sure, that’s fair. But most of what I’m seeing is people whining as if we’d gotten blown out, not simply “pointing out issues”. I pointed out issues. But a win is a win, and looking sloppy is common in the first game. Overall most performances today were quite good.

IMO It was an ok 1st Game. We won- so that's great....but there were some red flags. We definitely have some things to work on, but its only the first game of the season ..so..everybody else does too.

That said here's a breakdown of what I saw that I liked and what I saw that has me concerned:

Pro's

  • CMAC was very good, and will be even better if he stays healthy
  • Darnold rarely looked too panicky- He hung in there and made some good throws
  • The defense can be very good this year (Brown, Gross Matos, Shaq and Hartsfield -when he was in- looked really good)

Cons

  • Coaching and play calling (A few questionable decisions by Rhule, Snow and Brady). I hoping that as they get a better feel for their team they make better decisions
  • Kicking (I am wondering if we make a change--the missed extra point was concerning, but I was also worried about he 50 yarder we didn't try and punted instead. Is Ryan S. worth the conditional pick we will sent off if we keep him?)

Not Sure

  • The OL was not as solid has the Team seemed to think, but probably not as bad has most of us huddlers thought they would be. Daley looked good at RG as far as I could tell (He got a great pancake). I am still worried though they won't be able to hold up against a better team..

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
