This game is going to be cancelled. Maybe there is some sort of movement to MNF since the team is vaccinated.

They don't do that this year. This year's teams forfeit. The NFL is done with scheduling nightmares.

Contact tracing homie

Yeah, but if they don't test positive there is no issue.  Its not 18 months ago.  You don't have to quarantine for 14 days just because you've been in contact with someone who happened to test positive.

I don't want any bad forfeit karma.  Hope they can play

You also don't want COVID passed from team to team.

They bussed not only the team but the families to Jacksonville. That meant also putting them up in hotels, rentals, etc. In Florida. All of that increases the odds for positive COVID tests.

It all depends on how many coaches and (most important) players are positive for COVID.  A game can go on without coaches (or maybe with remote coaches using headsets) but if enough players are exposed, the game will get shut down.  Only the NFL knows what the number is to have a forfeit.

The team was displaced due to the hurricane and is currently practicing in Texas.  First game in FLA.  So two COVID hotspots.

I don't know where this forfeit talk is coming from BUT if it did happen, it would be both a good thing and a bad thing.

A good thing because it gives the Panthers a nice 2-0 start to the season plus it's one game less that CMC gets overused.

A bad thing because we still won't know how Sam would've improved from Week 1.   There will be constant speculation for another full week regarding that.

Anyway, we'll see how the NFL handles this.
