Why was this SO much less of a problem last year before vaccines?

Oh...maybe its because masks where suddenly lifted out of nowhere and no one felt the need to get vaxxed afterwards.

The stadiums full of maskless people at wrestling, basketball, baseball, and football events don't help either.

We quit wearing them when summer started after listening to what Dr Fauci, CDC, and expert medical officials advised. About a month or so later the Delta started ramping up and obviously we are wearing them again. I think there may have been a premature victory formation from our society but if we all work together we can finally get over this.

Have you not seen all the sporting events with packed stadiums and maskless people?

I am not trying to attack you, I am on the same side as you, and I have seen you comment in TB about this a lot too.

I have a skewed perception of all this, because I have been trapped working overseas since it all started. It amazes me all of the facebook posts with massive amounts of maskless people and the sporting events with lots of maskless people in attendance.

We know now that a vaccinated person can still contract COVID (which still really blows my mind that it was a shocking revaluation to some people and was their next excuse to refuse the vax). So knowing that, why do they not have to have a negative test to attend the event as well, knowing full well they will be crammed in with unvaccinated, maskless people? It just sends really mixed messages to me. I think that in order to attend an event, one should have to be vaccinated, have a negative test, wear a mask, and still social distance.

    • He has attempted 8 shootout goals in his NHL career and made 1. He is among our worst SO guys on the entire roster in terms of career stats.
    • Against Miami, the Panthers were behind by 17 in the 2nd quarter facing a 4th - 5. Young completed a 21 yard pass and they went on to score 7 on that drive. Then in the 4th, down by 4, they faced a 4th - 5 and again, he completed a 17 yard pass and they went onto score a TD for the win. He also accounted for 2 of the 3 TD's.  As I said, he got them in that mess and no doubt, Rico gets credit as well, but missing on either of those 4th down conversions hands the ball over and results in 1 or 2 less TD's giving them a loss. As you said though, that's just a small quibble. The real question is how does the FO see it?  I am guessing they see it as something to build on. I think most peope here see it as a total loss and fully expect the FO to see it that way as well. Time will tell.
    • Kochetkov is just too streaky. TBD if Freddie is doing that too. Freddie is the more reliable goalie over his career. The Bussi kid looks like he could be a solid #2 eventually.  Just need to figure out the #1 guy. Same as almost every year. It's not talent, it's consistency and being able to step up in the playoffs.
