He balled out last night but the media is hyping him up too much. He’s going to fall back to earth very hard.

I could see a scenario where he is considered a top flight backup QB. One of those guys you can trust to keep the ship from taking on water if your starting QB goes down for a few games.

Seems like the Panthers have been a "hindsight" team for a few years now but it would have been nice to keep him around as a backup.

I like him a lot. He's got a lot of fight and a lot of moxie. That game winning drive after that pick was impressive. I joke with my Washington friends that this is the start of the Heinicke Dynasty, and in truth I'd love to see it. But I'll temper me expectations. In the meantime I'm just enjoying watching him play and happy for him to have the opportunity to lead a team and win a game.

I've always known Taylor had something special.  You could tell from the couple of times he got to play with us.  The moment is not too big for him and he is not afraid to throw the ball to his guys and let them make a play.  I've been incredibly impressed with him in his playoff start last year and then that game last night.  Ron may just have something in him.

Heinicke SZN has begun!

    • I assume you are quoting my still. If so, I don't know what your argument is since mine was simply showing a play where Bryce scored a TD against the Rams in the playoffs where another poster used a similar still of Herbert's line to defend his poor performance last night. Like I said, Herbert is a better QB but Bryce wins the game last night for the Chargers. It simply is something he does better than Herbert and would play to his strengths. Someone even said earlier Chargers only win 1 or 2 games this year if Bryce was their QB which is so absurdly laughable it wasn't even worth trying to address. I mean this thread is literally called "Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panther's History" so I understand there is no objective arguments to be had here but I found that amusing.
    • I think his knee would make a good reason to switch to guard IF he returns.  Half don't.  Half of those don't last too long.  The strain on a knee (320lb man) vs speed rushers is more substantial.  So I would keep him if I could on a small contract (he will make $17.5 in 2026 fully guaranteed) and think of him as a possible guard for the post Lewis/Hunt era.  Knee injuries in big men are not invitations to invest in them.
    • I'd give anything to go back to a 4-3 but we are so removed from having the pieces for that. All because Tepper wanted to force this 3-4 on all our coaches.
