Richard Sherman makes a lot of sense right now

I'm not sure if this team needs Sherman. There's a lot of baggage that comes with him on the good days and I'm not so sure there's not going to be some disciplinary stuff coming down the road based on his mental breakdown/domestic violence issue this summer.

Right now, our long term is better served by sticking with who we have, moving guys up and putting some younger players on the practice squad to fill spots that open up. We're building depth every day and this continues that process.

This is a low drama, high potential, developing professionalism type of team. That is currently undefeated. No reason to mess with that.

Plus, in this pass happy NFL, if you are a name CB/S and you aren't on a team right now with the high demand and larger rosters, then it's time to hang up the cleats. Literally.

We have nobody serviceable to put in place of horn.

We are going to have to stop letting QBs escape our grasp like we have been if we are to have any hope at stopping the pass with our current DBs.

Let's see. We might be surprised.

We certainly won't be surprised with Sherman's performance at this stage.

I'd take a wait and see approach for now.  That is, unless there is a promising prospect sitting on another team's bench that can be had for little to nothing.

I seriously doubt that guy exists, but if he does, I think Fitterer will try and get him.

Something to keep in mind, Panthers new and improved line is the key to the defense this year.

While it is always nice to have a lock down DB like Horn, is it as critical as it once was?  With our improved D line?  Perhaps, an adequate DB, one that can cover just long enough to give our guys up front time to get to the QB may be all we need?

Maybe the answer to all these questions is already on the roster?

Yeah, I really liked Sherman back in the day, but he's dealing with some serious issues right now and I'm not sure it would be good for him or the Panthers to do a deal even if he were physically up to it.

I highly doubt you've ever seen him play.... All the jags did with him and Jalen was lock up man.... With a far lesser pass rush.

I'd love for it to be true but he had Jalen on the other side not Djax.

Although I like Djax most seem to feel his play this year was because he had Horn on the other side.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
