Liked. Big props to Darnold, didn’t think he had it in him

liked  the Panthers QB coach, he is a miracle worker, a helluva lot more than Brady

disliked. Trying to run Hubbard East West, can’t do it, too slow

disliked  Rhule or Brady favoring his draft pick over Freeman,

disliked. Brady’s 4th and 1 calls and that end around at that time, Jesus.

Liked..............at the end of the first quarter the momentum of the whole game was going with the Texans but by 5 mins in the 3rd quarter the Panthers reclaimed it for the rest of the game.........also the QB sneak for a score......

Dislike.......using small backs for short yardage plays between the tackles..........ugh!

LIKED: We did not go conservative with our play calling. Trusted Sam to put it away for us, and the fact that he did that.

DID NOT LIKE AND HAVE NOT LIKED SO FAR THIS FREAKIN SEASON: For some reason we are totally against spreading the offense out in the red zone. We do not have the line for these tight formations. Especially if we actually plan on running the ball straight forward.

This was the OL's worst game thus far.  We did better last two.

I think some of the bad OL play was just great defensive playcalling.

Lovie Smith is a savvy DC.  As soon as CMC went down, he dialed up the defensive pressure on Darnold.  Smith knew Darnold just lost his safety blanket so he went after him.  And, for a few series, the tactic was pretty effective.

LIKED:  The team's resilience when CMC went down.  Several players stepped up in the second half to keep the offense moving along and secure the win.

DISLIKED:  The soft, prevent-defense playcalling on Houston's last drive of the first half.  It's a rookie QB in his first start.  Blitz him EVERY PLAY !

There may be a bit of that, but 3 out of 4 sacks were BEFORE CMC went out.
This was the weakest DL we've played by far,  according to PFF.  So either PFF is ass, or we played worse and I'd say  both.

Sam may have been taking more time....it felt that way.

There still weren't  large holes to run through.

There's a reason Pat Meyer and Rhule chose Elflein over Daley.

DT Blacklock tore up with a sack, a QB hit, and a FF.  He had a 30.2 pff last year.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
