No waivers. This is his 5th year. Players with 4+ years are cut not waived.

I mean if he is cheap, how can anyone be against that? We aren’t stuck with that poo salary. Question will be how much does he want and for how long? I’d want him for cheap and 1-2 years but I highly doubt he isn’t offered better.

Smith would be worth the addition at the right price. He might not be the same player as he was a couple of seasons ago, and might be transitioning from a full time role to a situational one, but he could be helpful in the short term.

Really just need him to fill in at LB until Shaq gets healthy
