1) This franchise doesn't show high draft priority with O linemen. As a result, they have a bottom 1/3 of the league O line play.

2) Defense is fast by undersize......they do well with scheming for speed and pressure until the other teams figure that out (like Dallas did at the half).........and this D gets punched in the face when there is a power running game opposing them.

3) CMC is undersize.........isn't NFL material when it comes to his body type surviving hits in the trenches.......but we keep sending him in there and as a result he will have a career like Cam........unfulfilled possibilities due to an injury shorten career.

Finally........Darnold is at best a game manager........he's Steve Beuerlein 2.0

Other than the above.....they are a hell of franchise.

When we barely beat the Jets , people should have tempered there expectations, we dominated the saints because of injuries and famous jameis, the Texans hung with us with a 3rd strike rookie QB makes ng his first start

Then reality smacked us in the face in Dallas, and we have to wake up , we don't have an easy schedule, unless we get to play the jags twice ,we are the easy schedule

I see us winning maybe 4-6 games this season

Eagles were part of the easy schedule.

They are not a good team.

They are better than they appear. Just a week ago you said my thread was stupid. Well... Here we are. We will beat the rubbish teams but nothing more. 500 at beat for year two. We loaded our defense but it doesn't matter if our Oline can't stop a wet napkin and our ST is not the right kind of special.

We need a great QB. If that means Watson then go for it. If that means the draft, then pick your target and make a move. Sam might lead us to 8-9 limbo this season, or it might be might much worse if CMC is injured. I want the best player on this team to be our QB, not our RB. CMC is small and delicate, and he's lived a lovely pampered life. He's not that guy who is just this junkyard dog who crawled out of hell and is ready for punishment to escape poverty. CMC is always going have a nagging this, or a hurting that. We need to expect that he's going to miss a lot of games from here on out.

We don't have to be a team that depends entirely on on CMC just to be decent. The blueprint of building up the defense is not working. You saw what will happen if you try to stifle a popular team's offense. The refs let the o-line hold. Now what? You lose. Even if they don't hold the D will get tired and take plays off. What we need, and I have said this since Cam fell apart, is a potent offense, and a scrappy cheap defense. Instead the team I hate the most, the Cowboys, have that and we have the opposite.

Step 1: Find a great QB.

Step 2: Build a brick wall o-line.

Step 3: Add weapons if needed.

Step 4: Check to make sure the defense is still cheap.

Something like that.

Rhule's plan:

Step 1: Bring in a vet QB who is unproven.

Step 2: Patchwork poop o-line.

Step 3: Add a weapon if he's a steal.

Step 4: LOAD UP THE DEFENSE! All your CBs are MINE! Draft picks EVERYWHERE!

God help us.

    • The panthers offense right now is spiritually the same as the 2010s Seahawks. They want to keep it close until the fourth quarter and then try to pull a rabbit out of their hat. instead of running marshawn into the line 30 times a game, we’re throwing 20 passes behind the line of scrimmage. And instead of Russell Wilson bullshit, we’re getting 20 yard drives to set up a 55 yard field goal. Also that team had multiple hall of famers and we’ve got the worst qb in the league by whatever collections of metrics you want to use
    • So if Bryce could have come to Carolina with the same advantages he had every year at Alabama he would have been successful. Good coaches. Top recruiting classes far better than the opposition. Defense able to bail him out if he has a bad game.  Still doesnt change anything regarding footwork, mechanics, drop backs, reading the field, poor placement or any of the other myriad of issues that are still present in year 3.  Bryce wasn't ready to be the day 1 starter. There's nothing wrong with that. Dalton was clearly the more capable QB, as evidenced by what happened in Seattle in the rain, under extreme pressure. Same players, same coach, same terrible offensive line. Two different offenses.  When you look at Bryce and what he's done in game over the course of 3 years it's not pretty. He has moments of good, but there's been a lot more WTF. But saying Bryce would have been able to lead a team to the playoffs? Based on what we saw from him, he probably would have spent a good bit of year one on the bench holding a clipboard.
    • Feels on brand for Mike Brown.  He's very anti trade.
