I know losing always sucks, especially after clawing back to spend it to overtime. But wasn’t this season supposed to be a rebuilding season? The early wins had people thinking that maybe we could actually go far into the post season and then we lose CMC. With that, we lost all momentum and are back to reality that we are still a rebuilding team this season. It is what it is. Just hope the season eventually bears fruit that we can grow on and make some noise next season.

Who is the person who is going to chew the team or when we are not performing. Who is the guy who isn't going to accept the failure that we have become the past 3 games and call a players only meeting and light a fire. We need someone on offense and defense. And not wait til 4 mins in the 4th to fire up the team.

We have a lot of quiet types.

Sam clearly isn't going to be a fiery leader. DJ Moore is soft spoken, the OL sucks too bad to say anything, CMC is soft spoken...there is no disparity in the type of player we have in that regard. Smitty was going to bring the heat and fire up the crowd/team. Cam would as well.

We are missing that and it does matter. I mean speaking of the crowd...tune into what going from Smitty/Cam to                               .(blank for a reason)

On 4th and 10 from the 4 yard line, Darnold just went out there and Delhomme'ed the hell out of it. The kid carried an entire team down that field and willed a touchdown and two-point conversion into existence.

Had the coin toss gone the other way, we'd have won that game.

Or had say two passes not been dropped at any point in the game.

The kid is a fighter.

Yea the difference is the demeanor. Jake would get animated and hype we just are missing that type of player anywhere on offense. Doesn't have to be the QB but I think it'd be useful to have a hype man.

I agree with you on that. Maybe we saw Darnold growing a pair yesterday during that moment.

The kid is just 23, but for a moment there he looked like a 10-year vet QB who deserved to be here.

  • 3 weeks later...

This is funny….even the threads I started, claiming he was absolutely worth the trade. He absolutely fell off a cliff. No one could deny that his first three to four games he looked good, but damn I’ve never seen anyone regress as bad as he did after that.

He didn't even look that good the first 3 games, he just was covered up by the D and CMC being 95% of the offense game plan early in the year when football is sloppy and there isn't enough film.

It was always fools gold, Teddy had a stretch and so did Allen. Reality always comes crashing down after 4 to 6 weeks.

    • I can say that I have defended Canales because I get that they are doing all they can to keep from looking like idiots for drafting Bryce, from the trade up to signing $150m guards to drafting XL and Brooks etc---nothing seems to work.  And Hiring Canales was part of the Bryce Young rehab program, so so he can't really decide to "move on."  That has to come from Morgan and Tepper. Personally, I think Bryce is due for an injury.  He is small, he is not thick, and he has been a LOT more healthy than most any other QB has who has endured so much pressure.  The thing that bothers me is this---Bryce really does not go through his progressions quickly.  He locks on to his presnap read and stays locked onto him for too long--he seems to fail to anticipate the WR/TE's positioning on the play before the cut--for example, if the WR is running a dig and the CB has his back to the inside of the field, he should be open for a second or less just after the cut.  He seems to wait until the cut has been made before deciding, then checking down quickly while moving in the pocket. OL:  There seems to be a lack of communication--is that on Mays?  Watch this team presnap--they seem a bit confused at times.   I can almost predict the success rate of the play by watching the center and QB before the snap.
    • Anyone else remember back in 2010 when Fox piloted having music under the in-game replays during one of Carolina's games? Not the commercial bumpers but the actual replay clips that the announcers would talk over. Pretty sure it was vs the 49ers. And it was terrible. Point being, Carolina continues being so bad that we get the networks trying things out during their games.
    • Is it bad I found this video more hilarious than pathetic? I am still laughing at that one play where half the people on the field ran into each other and Bryce still couldn't see Chuba wide open... Also laughing at Cade blocking nobody and somehow losing his cleat Man this offense is a poo show
