An ESPN analytic stat shows just how bad our offensive line really is.

so taking into account better quality defensive opponents/strength of schedule?

fug a PFT. My eye test of watching damn near every single Panthers game of all time tells me this is quite possibly the worst o line, and worst offense overall in Panthers history.

Still there are ways to scheme around it and if you don't scheme around it, you're accentuating that weakness.  Several teams like the Chargers, Steelers, and Patriots have lines that would average out in the bottom third of the league and none of their offenses look as broken or dysfunctional as ours.  Also, look at teams like the Saints and Patriots pass block win rate versus their run block win rate...  sure, you could say its because they're built to better to pass block, OR maybe, just maybe, they're scheme gets the ball out quick so they rarely allow pressures.  It all goes hand in hand...  is our OL personnel garbage?  Absolutely.  Is it being exacerbated by idiotic, amateurish coaching even more so?  Absolutely.

Gotta have an Oline first, but I agree we need a QB too. Sucks to waste CMC this way, he could have taken us to the promised land I think

You don't need the Oline first, you need a QB first.  There are teams on that list with great O-lines who are terrible offensively because they don't' have a QB.

It depends on what kind of QB you have. Pocket Passer needs an O-Line. A QB with the ability to scramble, then maybe not. The worst part is there is no really enticing QB in the draft - its basically either Sam Howell or the Liberty QB.

Nailed it 100%. Without a running game it’s much harder to pass/pass block. Without the appropriate scheme, quick decision making, and good routes by receivers who can catch, you are going to be an atrocious offense.

Its no one issue, it’s literally the whole offense. But it starts with personnel decisions and coaching for sure.

The offense is playing undisciplined football our TEs were f'n up royally too. That's coaching.

The sense of urgency, attention to detail is missing. Understanding timing, absent. That's coaching.

Drawing up plays is cool but when everybody's job is literally on the line you've got to make young players understand that part of it.

Every play may be your last opportunity. Do your job. Coaching.

    • Regarding BYs depth of target... Week 1 Week 2
    • His physical attributes aren't going to change on a new team so I have no idea how he would pan out elsewhere but I can logically assume those issues he has had with processing which was supposed to be his key selling point before the draft would follow him. He was also supposed to be someone who thrives when the play breaks down but he has been inconsistent at best on that and at times horrific. I think where we each take a fork in the road on the determination of Bryce Young currently is you seem to still be treating him as a rookie and not a third year QB still repeating the same mistakes while showing that he has no arm talent to overcome even the slightest bit of adversity. I've said all along his rookie year and his sophomore season that I would be willing to overlook his interceptions if he was pushing the ball downfield consistently and even if he turned the ball over forcing a pass here and there to keep defenses honest I would accept it. But he has nothing. There is no deep passing game here. He threw the ball 55 times in Arizona which was 30 more times than Kyler Murray and only had a little over 100 more passing yards than him. Legitimately you should read that again and ponder it. That is embarrassingly atrocious. Circumstances here are not ideal with the WR's and OL but we cannot normalize this. It is horrendous. And we need to swallow our pride and begin scouting QB's for the 2026 draft. In the meantime this cannot continue on much longer for the sake of the locker room. And the upcoming schedule isn't going to get any better. If there is a silver lining to any of this we are going to find out just who Dave Canales really is throughout the rest of the season. He isn't getting a pass either.
    • I don't hate it but.....  eeeh it would take acquiring Kaprizov without giving up svech to make rod try Jarvis at 2C. Svechnikov/Aho/Kaprizov  Ehlers/Jarvis/Stankoven
