Might wanna go listen to Ricky Proehl talk about that one. He pretty much outright admitted that Smitty was causing a toxic locker room.

His locker was in the middle of the room too. He would talk poo about everyone very loudly.

@Catsfan69 your feelings don't matter. Go listen to Ricky Proehl (our WR coach at the time) talk about it. He was in the locker room. He was Smitty's position coach. There might not be a better direct source than that and he openly discussed it relatively recently.

I've listened to it.

He didn't say he created a toxic locker room.

He said he was hard on Cam and they were afraid Cam would be stunted by it.

That Steve held people to the same high standards he held himself too and that it was going to be hard on you if you didn't meet them.

That Steve wanted to win Now and Cam being a rookie was making too many mistakes.

And I can guarantee you this Cam was complicit in that situation. There are clips on the sideline of Steve trying to teach Cam and Cam completely ignoring him like some entitled punk.

I'm sorry but no rookie QB or not gets to act entitled towards Vets especially a Hall of Famer.

This is why I laugh when this board praises him so highly. I gave up on him after the 3rd time he punched a teammate.

Post the clips.

Man, the Cam Stan's are Stanning hard I tell ya what. If Cam doesn't light it up, this place could be on suicide watch.

On second thought, this place will be in "Build an Excuse Land". lol

Uh oh... Mr. Positivity himself comes along and tells on himself.  Nah man, we ain't coming over to your house.

You might want to rewatch that. Because you're just talking out of your ass and making things up apparently. He absolutely does say that he was creating a toxic environment, one that he was solely responsible for.

    • In January 2014, I posted this on another forum.  Seems like it fits again:   Do you remember cheering for the rain? Trying to sleep after “The no-call”? Do you know who needs to "Ice up, son"?   Remember pleading for .500? Thinking there’s no catching the Saints? Punting to Buffalo and knowing how it was going to end?   Do you remember how you felt about Kalil’s ad? Or the fan’s follow up? Gruden’s interview with Cam?   Do you remember Clausen being the steal of the draft? Will you ever forgive Mel Kiper?   Did you cry as Jake said his goodbyes? Do you remember the game that cost Gruden his job?   As fans chant “Luuuuuuke,” do you still hear “Moooose”? … “Hoooove”?   Do you recall changing the diaper? Paddling the boat? Being happy just hearing the name Smoot?   Do you recall the day when it hurt to say “Keep pounding,” and you felt you’d lost a close friend?   Did you hunt the net for Bojangle’s commercials? Have you seen a Cajun’s bare butt?   Do you remember the sunken feeling when Smitty was caught from behind and didn’t get up?   Sports Illustrated’s prediction?   Were you angry at Janet for stealing the spotlight? Does “X-Clown” still give you chills? Do you sing the wrong words to “Day-O”? Whenever you hear “He Hate Me,” do you also hear Rosinski finishing the sentence?   Did you like Seifert a little less when he let Walls’ streak of games-with-a-reception end? But nothing compared to letting Steve go, right? Do you remember that invincible feeling you had when we won the first game of 2001? Do you recall who our division rivals were?   Do you remember thinking “Just wait ‘til Bazooka’s healthy”? How about that weird grin you got watching Kevin Greene fire up the D? Or being undefeated at Ericsson?   If your answer is “no,” we happily welcome you as a new fan of our beloved team. Trust me, we’ll be happy to explain all of these and more to catch you up. For the rest of you, it’s been entirely too long since we were alive after week 17. But every question that you answered “yes” to makes this all the sweeter. Welcome to the playoffs.
