Rhule comes across as fake

I have almost done a complete 180 on this guy. I used to think he was refreshing but the more I hear him speak in interviews, the more tired I get of all the coach speak.  I think eventually it will wear on the players too.  If there's anything players hate more than anything is when someone is not honest with them.  I'm hoping maybe he just spews out this nonsense with media and that he keeps it real with the players but everything suggests that they can't trust him either.

Every HC's press conference is filled with coach-speak.

If people want to hate Rhule that is okay.  But it blows my mind how much people think what a coach says in a press conference matters.

Newsflash: Go watch all 32 HC post-game talks.  They all more or less say the same thing.  Hell the GOAT coach Belichick is the KING of Coach Speak.

No player gives a crap about what Rhule is saying at a press conference.  It literally doesn't matter.

My point is that what if he's like that with the players?  Telling them how great they are then not giving them reps, or not making adjustments in coverage, etc.   I think Rhule comes across as calculating instead of being direct and honest.

If you were in a barfight, would Rhule be the guy you'd want watching your back? Out of the 32 head coaches in the NFL, is he the one you'd want to go to war with? Does he even make the top 20? 30?

At least you could say that about Rivera. I mean while punches are being thrown he'd probably still be trying to talk people down and be diplomatic but if you ever got him goin!

There were other threads vying for Dumbest Angry Rhule Take today, but you just put this one over the top. Congrats.

I'd trust Rhule to back me in a fight about as much as I'd trust Sean Payton to look after my medicine cabinet

No, that'd be Dan Campbell. I swear that guy is a slim jim away from going postal.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
