First off no one player is above any criticism. Cam made mistakes that lost us the game he knows it and he has owned up to it like always. That being said any Panthers fan who has been following the team this season and has seen the pressers is going to rightly call shenanigans on throwing players under the bus publicly now.  If he was going to go this route he should have been doing so all along bc there has been blame to go around. Him and his staff included. This is a really bad look this late in the season and you see fans in the replies rightly so calling it for what it is. Good on Ellis for speaking on this.

I think it’s pretty clear that Rhule has some sort of disdain for Cam. Not exactly sure what it is, could be a multitude of reasons but him throwing him under the bus today genuinely made me dislike him as a person.

Cam keeping quiet besides discussing his own play and his faults speaks volumes about the character Cam has vs Rhule, who hasn’t owned any responsibility for anything since he’s been here.

I despise Rhule. And I have a feeling the members of the team that aren’t tied to Baylor in any way feel the same.

This imo sums it up. Rhule's a control freak, ad Cam was the ONE player at the time that had more sway with the roster than the coach.

NFL players respect Cam, he has a SB appearance and MVP to his name. Rhule came in with a nice college resume but nothing that would compare to Cam's at the professional level.

Therefore to attain that power / voice Cam had to go, and Rhule screwed up QB TWO SEASONS IN A ROW.

If that were the case, it'd be almost ironic. Steve Smith was reportedly cut so the Panthers could be Newton's team.

Mind you, it's a little different when it's a coach. A coach shouldn't have to resort to such tactics.

I get it.  But Rhule is right.  Cam turned the ball over twice in the opponents side of the field after two long drives.  Cam needs to be held accountable like everyone else.  Rhule said the same about Sam when he kept committing turnovers

... but did he though? I don't recall Rhule ever throwing Sam under the bus, especially highlighting a fumble that wasn't even Cam's fault. Maybe I feel protective over Cam in a weird fatherly way, but after every crappy Sam game with multiple turnovers I can't recall a week where Rhule went out of his way at multiple different pressers to highlight how bad Sam did.

I kind of wonder if the players are looking to Cam for guidance vs Rhule and there are some insecurities there. Cam has made it to the Big Game, Cam has been a MVP, Cam is a strong leader who (usually) owns up to his mistakes. If Rhule is losing the respect of his team because they see what we all see, they might be leaning on Cam more which he wouldn’t like.

Might be time for Cam to start "moving some furniture"...

That's not a hard scenario to picture.

    • Does he not already do that? The go route stuff is to just make space for the constant dink and dunk. That's why it dries up near the 20 where it gets tough.  Difficult to defend? Just get up in scores and lean into it. If they can send pressure without going too soft in coverage it will work agaisnt the Panthers.  I still think the offense is a QB away from instant improvement.
    • I don't know how about 5 at this point. I think that window has closed. Getting the easy stuff early and being notoriously unprepared every year is blowing up in their faces. 3 might be the max. Good Bryce shows up when the other team is having a practice game or an off weak after watching our film. It's basically a sucker punch to teams mailing it in. Groundhog day? More like Groundhog year again
    • It's a weak take like it was a weak game. It was garbage time against backups. That's his shine time. It's should be made fun of because it was pathetic. The WRs were gassed? What about the backup DBs? Those guys must have been really tired since they sit on the bench most of the time. Take that BS and go whine to someone else. man or zone they played off the line and back 10 yards in soft ass coverage. That and practice is all Young is good at. When the other team plays like they want to win he shuts down. Same as last year. Blah blah blah
