He's not a HOF QB.

Nowhere close to being a good enough passer plus zero rings.

Regardless, he had a big impact on the game.  The amount of “Cam won’t succeed because read option doesn’t work in the NFL” rhetoric was ridiculous, and he proved them all wrong.  Was he an all time great passer?  No.  But he won MVP with his legs AND his arm, and in his prime was one of the most dynamic players ever.

His uniqueness as a quarterback might be what gets him in if he can play a few more seasons.

Yeah, and we need to keep him with a new deal in this role.  Hall of Famer no doubt.  All time QB rushing yardage is definitely within reach too

Like I said in my other thread, a incentive based end of career contract with him mainly being here as a backup and short yardage and redzone situations, shouldn’t be that expensive and he would fill a need.

    • I presented that scenario because this is a home game and we seemed to have improved in some capacity in that area as of recently. The problem with the possibility of sweeping the Bucs is this team has had a habit of quickly falling victim to momentum shifts. The Bucs are coming off a bitter loss the same as the Panthers but the Bucs have a much better proven track record this time of year and they have performed when the pressure is on unlike our Panthers. We have a shot against the Seahawks here in BOA but that is a matchup that could quickly get out of hand because they are a well coached team and that goes back to the momentum shifts I mentioned. I just don't see this team beating the Bucs in their stadium to close the season. Tall order to say the least.
    • I’d give it another year for Sanders and Evans, I don’t much care what you do with Tremble’s spot. Let him have another year or maybe replace him. Haven’t looked at his contract so that may be the determining factor.
    • Following the crazy up down pattern we finish 9-8 with an improbable sweep of TB, and lay an egg in the home playoff game.  I don’t know if I can sign on to sweeping TB but I suppose it’s possible, they aren’t really that good this year.    ps I can buy beating TB Sunday and losing to Seattle.  Then it just gets to can you fluke one game. Any given Sunday. So we’ll see.
