Could the Panthers beat Alabama?

Grown men who couldn't get a scholarship offer from Alabama -- and many of whom are only 1-3 years older. Just some context. You're also looking at arguably the GOAT college coach against the worst coach in NFL history.

How is Rhule worse than Bobby Petrino or Hue Jackson?  Petrino literally walked out on his team and Jackson went 1-15, guaranteeing they would be better next year or he’d walk naked into Lake Erie, only to go 0-16 and puss out on his promise.

As bad as we are, we still have NFL players.  Talent isn’t a problem for us, it’s coaching.  Talent alone will be enough to overpower Alabama.  Brian Burns and Reddick against 19-20 year old tackles?  Come on

Rhule is worse than Bobby Petrino, because Petrino's damage lasted less than a full season and he was not given autonomous control of the roster and staff.

Rhule is worse than Hue Jackson, because he won nearly as many games in his first season as Rhule will have in his entire career.

Talent is a problem. This is not a top-32 football roster in the country. There's no way -- especially since Rhule gets rid of the players who are good. Enjoy those DJ Moore, McCaffrey and Burns jerseys while you can, because they'll be on new teams within a year and change (three months for Reddick). It's Jeremy Chinn and a mediocre college team around him.

Thinly veiled anti-Sam thread? Not that he deserves praise, but OP said the same team would win with Cam as the QB.

That said ... how many Bama starters are going to end up in the NFL? That right there tells you why Bama just doesn't have enough to get it done against am NFL team. They'd score though.

Also ...

The Chicago Charities College All-Star Game was a preseason American football game played from 1934 to 1976 between the National Football League (NFL) champions and a team of star college seniors from the previous year. It was also known as the College All-Star Football Classic.[1]

The game was contested annually — except for 1974, due to that year's NFL strike — and was played in July, August, or September. In the 42 College All-Star Games, the defending pro champions won 31, the All-Stars won nine, and two were ties, giving the collegians a .238 winning percentage.

The second game, played in 1935, involved the hometown Chicago Bears, runner-up of the 1934 season, instead of the defending champion New York Giants. The New York Jets played in the 1969 edition, although still an American Football League (AFL) team, as once the AFL-NFL Championship was introduced (including for the two seasons before the "Super Bowl" designation was officially adopted and the remaining two seasons before the AFL–NFL merger) the Super Bowl winner was the professional team involved, regardless of which league the team represented.

Interesting. Never heard of this.

Worth noting that you made the point that Cam is our starter. May be eating those words very soon, based on what Rhule says and does.

I don't think people realize how much better NFL teams are than the best college teams. Even the guys at the bottom of our below-average roster were absolute studs in college. We would absolutely demolish Alabama easily. Yes we suck in the NFL but college and pro are like 2 different universes.

Agree to disagree, Rhule is bad but he’s not as bad as those guys.  He hasn’t completely quit and some guys on the team still believe in him (albeit probably stemming from the nice payday, e.g. Robby Anderson).  He has at least one example of good coaching, the Chiefs game last year was well coached.  He’s clearly in over his head and needs to go, but saying he’s the worst in history just isn’t true lol

Bama by 19. Panthers cannot defend the run game, and Bama's offensive and defensive lines are far better than the Panthers' (even with Burns and Reddick -- their DTs are monstrous).

It would be closer than a lot of people think.  Plus it’s Saban and his coaching staff vs Rhule and his Baylor/Temple staff.

That's the thing people aren't considering. You could switch just the coaches and the outcome's probably different. Maybe.
