Regardless of what the Huddle consensus seems to be (for the love of God, an LT), here's what's likely going to happen.  ESPN NFL Draft analyst Jordan Reid reports that general manager Scott Fitterer and head coach Matt Rhule are in attendance for today’s Duke’s Mayo Bowl to view Tar Heels passer Sam Howell.

2-5 as we speak

Seriously?

Dude drops dimes fading away off his back foot 50 yards down field. He’s got a ton of arm strength

Willis is this years Lance in my opinion. Has all the tools but like Rum said, he definitely needs to sit a year and be developed

Except for the fact he is barely 6' ft tall.. And Lance is easily 6'4  and built like a truck..

1 year younger then Darnold..

Spent 5 years in college with only 1 season of elite QB play..

This is a 1 year wonder guys..

Thanks for pointing that out.  We need a left tackle in the 1st.

Letting this staff pick a QB in this draft is Malpractice...

They didn't take 1 in a better QB draft this year..

Everybody can see a clear issue of this team is Oline.. Until you fix that no QB will develop here..

Your either giving Rhule and co. More job security or You're forcing a QB on a new coach.. When most new coaches want their pick of QB and usually don't stick with The last regime QB choice..

Drafting a QB in this low rated down QB draft is a bad plan all around..

If you trade 3 picks for a qb and then Pick up his option you don’t get a do over in choosing a qb.  You picked darnold now go make it work.  You made this poo bed go sleep in it.

None of them are a a top 10 pick but someone will reach for one. I don’t think but maybe 2 go in the first rd that’s how bad qb class is. Also we better not be one of them, we better be fixing oline.

Yep we can't even really trade back more than 2-3 spots or we'll miss the top OL guys, we don't really need 5 more project guys next year but that's probably what we're gonna get if we move back

Hell yes.. If Rhule is still here he has to make it work with Sam or Cam.. Don't give him another QB decision until he proves he can clean up his original QB decision.

    • I’m just not seeing it. Falcons are better than the previous two teams we faced and the Panthers unlike most teams do not really play better at home than on the road
    • I don’t know about this one. Looking at his touches in week 2, there are still 3 plays I can find where he had an easy 2-3 yards upfield and somehow turned it to a race to the sideline for no gain or negative yardage. He was putting us in 2nd and 11 vs 2nd and 7. It doesn’t seem like much, but an NFL WR has to know to get upfield. You will break one eventually.
    • Despite what reports say, I still think Tepper is influencing football decisions.  We certainly heard about this during the Reich short era...ie - the Monday morning meetings.  There are too many consistent inconsistencies still going on to not think he is still too much involved.  New coaches, new GMs....same results.  The offense looks the same under Canales as it did under Rhule, Brown and Reich. The only time the offense has looked different was when Wilkes moved to a power run game for 6-7 games.  But it was clear Wilkes would not have wanted BY....probably a big reason why he was not retained.   The defense was actually better under Snow but he had better players and it was not a great defense.  But the defense has gotten much worse as they lost key players (Luvu, Chinn, Burns & etc) but did not replace them with even average talent.  The defense was never really strong since the 3-4 defense was pushed on Rivera by Tepper. I think Tepper pushed for BY too.  Now Canales is stuck with a QB that does not fit his system.  The last 7-years of Panthers football can be traced back to when Tepper bought the team.
