Should we draft IOWA center Tyler Linderbaum in the 1st round or go with a LT?

Best-graded: T Daryl Williams | 71.1

Worst-graded: G Cody Ford | 46.7

Three of the five spots on Buffalo's line are solid, with both tackles and center Mitch Morseplaying almost every snap. All three have been solid pass-blockers, but the issues have come trying to patch together the two guard spots and constantly shuffling the line — including moving Daryl Williams to guard and back again — to make that happen. None of the players who have taken a turn at guard have distinguished themselves, with Ike Boettgerthe only one to post even passable PFF pass-blocking grades (71.1).
 

23. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (DOWN 2)

Best-graded: G Andrew Norwell | 69.0

Worst-graded: G A.J. Cann | 45.9

Like everything else in Jacksonville this season, the offensive line is heading in the wrong direction. Andrew Norwell is by far the best-graded member (69.0). He has allowed 17 pressures and sports a 66.7 run-blocking grade. Cam Robinson has actually been impressive in recent weeks as a pass-blocker, posting five straight games of excellent grades in that area and surrendering only one sack all season.

27. PITTSBURGH STEELERS (UP 1)

Best-graded: G Trai Turner | 67.1

Worst-graded: C Kendrick Green | 54.4

The Steelers have allowed one of the lowest pressure rates in the NFL, but that's due in large part to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger getting the ball out of his hand in just 2.18 seconds on average, the quickest time in the league. Despite that, four of the five starters have allowed multiple sacks, and the unit's run blocking is poor. Pittsburgh is averaging just 0.9 yards before contact per rush this season, ranking 29th in the league.

    I can speak that they are right about Trai Turner playing well. Definitely been the Steelers best OL this year. But that’s not saying much. The Steelers OL has been only slightly better that the Panthers OL has been.

True.  Short term patience could go a long way for these guys running the ship.  They all just seem so flippant and inexperienced.

To your point--Hell, could've still landed Darrisaw for LT who's played a million times better than anyone minus Moton on our line.  Not to mention, would have probably netted an additional 3rd or 4th which would help digest this Darnold situation.

Then had 2 firsts where taking Pickett or Corral would have been much more easy to stomach with an OL first again like Ekwonu or Lindenbaum.    

I love Horn but picking him there set us back with true impact players.  For where we stood roster wise, picking a CB round 1 just never sat well for me.  To this day it still just feels like a missed opportunity.

You go for the franchise changers/game breakers or the guys who will help you win at the LOS.

If you get Cross you put him at LT and Christensen at LG and slide him over if something happens to cross. Fill the other 2 spots in FA/draft.

I would pick Linderbaum in a heartbeat and not think twice about it. Spend the next three picks on a Guard / Tackle prospects and let Christensen stick at LT. We are then one vet guard away from being light years ahead of the talent we currently have. Center is a QB’s best friend and Linderbaum is the best center prospect to ever come out. He will be a plug and play pro bowl center for the next 12+ years. The interior of our line is the worst it has ever been in the history of our franchise and this would be the best prospect to correct it.

Anybody that wants to see how much having a center that doesn't understand football hurts, just go back and watch the game vs. TB when Tecklenburg was sliding protection away from the blitz. -_-

Lindstrom later (4th or 5th) maybe, not sold he is rugged enough but if he can make all the line calls correctly to get more out of the others, it's worth it.  I like OL with lots of snaps/games. Also put a lot on the C when an entire like plays well. Iowa, Wyoming, and ISU all have run the ball really well for 3+ years with the C they have had and rotation of OG OT year in and out. Speaks to the quality of the players yes, but also to the constant C getting guys into the right calls.

Now how they do with pass pro that's another story. Didn't dive into that, not how their line did as units in pass pro.

 

Cryder popped on the radar recently. Likely a bigger name and already well known if not playing for Wyoming.

As others have said, take the layup at #6 and draft a LT.  It's the easy and smart choice.   

If somehow all 3 LT went before us sure, take Center Tyler Linderbaum.  But that's not going to happen.

Linderbaum is getting ridiculous hype but he us undersized as hell and will probably bust.  

People saying Kahlil was undersized but you don’t go shopping for undersized centers because a few worked out.

#6 for an interior lineman straight screams desperation

Tyler is 6’3 291 and not even in an NFL weight room yet. He will be a top 10 pick if we pick him or not. He is one of the highest rated centers to ever come out and is considered one of the safest prospects in the draft so not sure why you could say he would bust.
