This off-season will be the most pessimistic the fanbase has ever been if Rhule is brought back for a third season.

I can’t believe it’s come to this but here we are watching David Tepper and the Panthers brass staring down the legit possibility of inexplicably keeping a massively overpaid, woefully unqualified fraud of a head coach to lead the Panthers to yet another miserable losing season. 

I really hope all the recent media squeaking about Rhule being retained for a third season is smoke and mirrors. The fanbase clearly isn’t happy with FIRE RHULE chants breaking out in the concourse at the freaking Hornets games.

But sadly it needs to be said. Rhule and his staff are clearly in over their heads and the fanbase isn’t ready to wait around for them to fix the litany of issues they caused that even a random bozo on Twitter with an IQ of 85 could see were bad ideas. Like trading for Sam freaking Darnold who was the worst QB in the NFL his first 3 seasons and oh wow let’s pick up his $19m option before he even plays a down for the team! Brilliant!

Or better yet let’s hire a head coach to a massive 7 year $62m deal when he NEVER BEAT A RANKED TEAM IN THREE YEARS at his previous college job. 0-11 vs ranked teams, but I guess Marty Hurney really liked Matt Rhule’s wife’s meatballs so why the hell not, back up the Brinks truck Teppy!

Now the team continues to embarrass themselves by showing the world 60 minute liquid brown diarrhea performances every Sunday. The team lost its final 10 of 12 games, many of which in blowout fashion. But I guess we just can’t see the progress. Or the super secret “Process” no one really knows about. 

Bottom line, if the Panthers really are going keep Matt Rhule for another trip around the sun, it is going to be a miserable off-season of pessimism and vitriol not only among the fanbase but I have to imagine the team as well. Matt Stafford straight up gave this team the middle finger last year when they tried to trade for him. Dude knew a dumpster fire when he saw one. Who wants to play for a head coach that doesn’t make halftime adjustments and couldn’t outcoach Tom freaking Herman at Houston OR Texas? How do you expect a guy like that to win in the NFL???

It might be the worst off-season to be a Panthers fan in team history because you just know these guys are going to f*ck it up! You just know it! What’s next for Matty Rhule’s traveling brigade of foolish decisions? Hiring the Baylor women’s tennis coach as offensive coordinator? It honestly wouldn’t surprise me! Matt’s 3rd grade best friend Bongo McQueefhole will probably get an interview. 

I honestly don’t really care what they do anymore. I don’t have any faith in the leadership to make good decisions. They could get an A++ from every football pundit for every off-season transaction and draft pick they make. But I know that if Rhule is back coaching those players, the team will be constantly unprepared on game day, be incapable of adjusting to the changes other teams make, and QUIT in games where they’re clearly in over their heads.

Bring in an NFL level coaching staff, Panthers. Or it’s going to be a VERY negative off-season in Charlotte. And that’s not going to help anyone.

who cares? Rhule already gutted the draft and cap and fuged 2022 for this franchise

it really doesn’t matter

what does matter is he be not allowed to do poo with 2023 draft or give out any big contracts - now that happening, I will be livid about

he’s chosen his ‘process’ if he must be back make him stay on track

ive seriously never heard someone’s plan or process is to continually change directions. You’d think anyone can see that’s BS

It's boo time.

Watching the videos of fans chanting to fire Rhule at the NBA game was great. Carolina fans showing out and looking more galvanized that they have since 2015 is the only positive to be found. The wine and cheese crowd will hate all of this, fantastic.

Maybe it's another step towards having a real fanbase that we just have never had here. JR regulated the stadium so hard that booing could get you kicked out by a yellow shirt. Cheer and boo, it's all just feedback and it needs to be heard or we will see the same BS year in and out like we have.

In Philly or Oakland (back in the day) the security guards wouldn’t even try to remove a booing fan because they’d get their asses kicked. The yellow shirt guys aren’t trying to get a black eye to remove someone for booing. Panthers fans might be getting to that level of angry!

I'm not needing to be Philly but that was some BS. The 'you are standing and interrupting the other fans' is still here for sure. It's a freaking boo and chant, how is that much different than a wave or cheering?

This team, under Rhule's direction and Tepper's ownership, has become a dog poo smeared tennis shoe. 

No one wants to wear it.

No one thinks the ones who did it can possibly clean it up.

No one wants to admit it, but it might be time to just chuck the shoe and get some new ones.

I'm more worried about the personnel side of things than anything, though 2022 will also be another lost season if he's the coach. If we bring Rhule back I'm worried that we give Reddick a 18-20m a year megadeal and then have no money to sign anyone else with (generally 10m or so goes to the draft, and we have 28m). Our future gets grimmer every day he remains employed. We still have money clearing next offseason so its not completely unsalvageable and if we act now we won't have to start over again, but I don't know if I have faith in Tepper to act.

We could've gave that Robby contract to Stephon Gilmore (maybe a bit more on the money side of things) if we had simply been patient, but we just had to pre-emptively extend him because he played at Temple.

      Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy

      Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
