This quote from the story makes me think there's nothing to this but a pile of bullshit.

Those weren't cheers IN FAVOR of Rhule. It was quite clearly: FIRE RHULE! FIRE RHULE!

WTF? Is David Newton smoking crack or is his hearing just that bad?

This article has to be Newton's failed attempt at satire.  Right?

There is simply no way to misinterpret jeers of "FIRE RHULE" for cheers.

This spin is like something you'd expect to read out of PRAVDA during the Cold War.

The most obvious candidates for OC internally would be Nixon and Ryan. Nixon hasn't shown enough as interim IMO and Ryan has struggled, but look at the Poo he has been dealt. I would not be surprised to see Myer fired and Maybe Satterfield brought back in from SC as OL coach (hope not)....Ryan may be safe or he could be fired too and Nixon given his Job or remain as RB coach. There are a lot of possibilities, but whoever they hire as OC will tell us a lot about how much Tepper still trusts Rhule. Outside guy (Prob. not so much), Inside Guy or Rhule Guy (Yeesh!)

He's smoking crack and every other illegal drug out there.

Lol as many people that talked crap about him, now everyone wants him as OC. No thanks

Actually B.O.B  as OC would be a bad idea.

his biggest failures and the reason everything went south with him.

he had too much control as a HC (sort of like we have here now). And he really fugues up in the personnel decision aspect which destroyed things.

as a coach he was pretty respected.  Dude made the playoffs twice with Matt Schwab as his QB.
Having him as a OC and taking some control away from Rhule on the personnel side and give that to the people who should be managing that (Fitty and Morgan).  This would be a really good thing.  Additionally O’Brien has NFL experience and also as a Failed HC doing so the way Rhule is.  He can give Matt some pointers where he failed and screwed up.

He had the best defense in football.

    • Ward could fly up the rankings with a good year.
    • Ask me in five years whether this draft class was good or not. Having said that, I'll grade the 2019 draft... R1 P16: Brian Burns - I'll argue this was a good pick. At the minimum, he was worth enough to have gotten a seriously good offer of picks which, in retrospect, we should've taken. But we still got something for him and his new team gave him a ton of money. R2 P37: Greg Little - Utter and complete flop. Only real value was somehow getting a 7th rounder from the Dolphins. R3 R100: Will Grier  - Played godawful the rare times he was on the field. Somehow still in the league. R4 P115: Christian Miller - Nothing of note. R5 P154: Jordan Scarlett - I don't think he even lasted two years. R6 P212: Dennis Daley - Some flashes of promise but we eventually traded him for some picks. Was terrible in Tennessee. I'll consider this a success since we got picks back. R7 P237: Terry Godwin - Did not last here long at all.  In summary, we got one quality starter... who is now gone. Daley might've been the second best player of this class and he was a middling backup at best. Burns saved this class from being a complete disaster.  D+
    • You can add that to the assessment of the whole offseason, but not the draft itself
