That the people that sat through all those losing seasons said they wouldn't pay for a billionaire's toys. So, like a spoiled brat, the billionaire took his toys elsewhere. It'll be the same here if the Panthers keep losing.

It's irrelevant what anyone responds to him with he will just deflect and do his ask questions bit and slink away. At one point he was halfway coherent now he's back to late night trolling for giggles. Sad existence.

Your point?

Oakland, the city with the losing franchise, didn’t pay for a losing team’s new stadium dreams. So that really wasn’t a good example you used. It kind of proved the point you were arguing against. Now go carry around some old man’s golf clubs and try to brag about it.

Let's not forget, JR had 4 losing seasons in a row and two seasons with 2 or fewer wins and never has this team had a back to back winning season.  It's not like we were a dominant team and Tepper came in and now we completely suck. There have been highs and lows, but mostly mediocre throughout the panthers history.

Jerry was too cheap to build a dome and expand areas of the stadium for football operations

Jerry kept Marty and Ron when this board wanted them gone.

Dave actually is putting money into this team (and Charlotte) if you want to admit it or not.

Tepper is keeping Rhule when people want him gone even worse than they did Rivera.

And honestly, if you were say, a Jaguars fan, would even the best facilities in the world be enough to keep you interested if the level of play never rose above where it is now?

No,,   there are a few franchises that have been sitting in purgatory longer than us.

What we learn is that when a team like the Cardinals , KC , Buffalo  etc,  make jumps to winning,, it comes with a GOOD Quarterback and coach. ( I hear,   that Offensive line is important too. )
We have neither.

Yeah, he's a suckup to a billionaire. If Tepper is paying him to do it, that's one sad thing. But if he's not getting paid to do it, that's just beyond sad.

    • Brandt's comment about Wharton was from his KC perspective when Wharton was a UDFA rookie.   "it goes back to the anecdote that Brandt Tillis had when he was in Kansas City. And it would be so easy to just cut Turk Wharton in 2020 when he was an undrafted rookie from a division two college in Missouri. It would been so easy to cut him because then he would have cleared waivers easily. No one knew this guy. They didn't have any joint practices, didn't have a preseason. Would have been so easy to cut him and bring him back on the practice squad and let him continue to build from there. And Brandt essentially said, "No, he's got to make the 53man roster if we're going to have any sort sense of credibility with this team."
    • Plenty of us were scratching our heads about that signing at the time. Especially with our 3-4 defense. Wharton is kind of a one trick pony situational five tech DT. He doesn't have the beef to hold up against the run and he doesn't have the juice to shift outside. He's basically a situational pass rusher DT. If we paid him $40M+ and he can't start for a historically inept defense then holy poo...
    • Agreed.  300 and 2 or 3 total in Jacksonville in a winning effort would sure be a nice start.
