Guy talking about him on NFL Network indicated part of the problem is he's apparently kinda hard to work with. Made note of the fact that he kept firing his offensive line coaches, among other things.

(this seems to be a common issue with guys in the Belichick coaching tree)

I think the Urban meyer fallout is going to have teams thinking twice about these aggressive behavior'd coaches.

So we are going to criticize Rhule for having his inexperienced buddies on his roster but then get upset if he lets Chase go even though Chase doesn't really have an impressive resume and is one of those typical, well liked, gritty, ex-players that coaches usually give a job to.

Let's try to be consistent here.

ST and OL coach were the same one speculated that he would sacrifice in season if needed.  They weren’t his boys from college.

and it looks like he threw in one Baylor guy that he only worked work for 2 years to make it not so glaring.

probably hires brother in law or some poo.  That went to Temple for a semester or something

I know everyone wanted Rhule gone, but that doesn't look like it will happen.

Getting rid of 3 coaches that were in charge of three units that underachieved isn't a bad thing.

I definitely don’t think Fhule is out of the woods yet. I would say this goes along with the Glazer report, if he can’t get some great guys, Fhule might be gone.

Maybe, but my point is its a bit of a double standard to be upset that Rhule has his inexperienced "buddies" as coaches but then you get upset if he replaces Chase, who let's be honest, doesn't really have a great coaching resume.

Apparently its ok if it's a former, well-liked player.

Hell I don’t think Blackburn is great at ST either but heck he isn’t worse that Fhule. He has no idea how to lead a team and he’ll don’t even know how rules work on calling timeout compare to play clock. So if anything his ass should have been gone first.

I don't know that people are upset due to Blackburn's firing in and of itself. I think people are more upset because Rhule--who essentially did a worse job, and is responsible for the entire clusterfug of a season--is firing fall guys as opposed to being fired himself.

As for Blackburn's work, I think that it's a little harder for the average person to evaluate ST play (as compared to offense and defense) from an analytical standpoint. And, you're right, maybe his resume is meh.

    • So what is more important? what he did on the Saints the year before last or how he compares to a ROOKIE who clearly had problems adjusting to the LEAGUE last year on another team and it effecting win/losses? smh And you say im all over the place.  Also, i clearly gave explanations for how the seattle game played out. Its rare a qb has to throw the ball 63 times so to think it would have been a theme for the season is ludicrous... the even bigger point is that its not necessarily his fault if he has to do it in the first place like he was calling the plays but for some strange reason you continue to hold that against Dalton as if its all on him and not the guys around him racking up penalties. If he is old terrible as you say it shouldnt matter how bad the defense was he played, he shouldnt have been able to throw for over 300 yds on them with no turnovers. But this is the narratives people pushed all season, why didnt bryce turn around and destroy and even worse defense against a winless vikings the next week? Do i need to layout how dumb this logic is even more?
    • I love to bash them for this move but its smart..  They have a team that can win the NFCS this year, but yet they are picking in the top 10 now.  Cousins contract is really only a 2 year deal. So Penix can sit and learn with no pressure for 2 years and in year 3 when Cousins guaranteed money is over they can plug in Penix.  If they were not in a position to win the South this year then I think this would have been bad trade, but its smart and they can afford it.
    • Already noticing differences At least this year, we did not see photos of Xavier hugging Mrs. Tepper (even if others were hugged, it simply suggests owner involvement on a premature level, imo)--there were no cute news conferences wherein the head coach jokes about drafting a RB because he had a good game against Baylor and his wife told him to; There are not recordings of the head coach calling a long snapper and trying to convince him that he is being drafted and not pranked.    In other words, I get the feeling that the GM was actually able to do his job this year--we shall see.
