He doesn't even have 25% of what it will take to purchase them.  Must be a large ownership group if he will be the majority owner.

Has to be.  Broncos owner want to sell, she inherited the team after death and she don’t want it.  I think this way in development for quite sometime behind the scene.

I wonder who he will add to his ownership group to get the rest of the money. No way his net worth of $450M will get the job done alone.

Yeah, only billionaires were in the running for the Panthers.  Heck, when it was speculated John Elway or Peyton Manning were interested, they were forming ownership groups because not even those guys have enough money to buy the Broncos outright.

I honestly don't know what is the best for teams.

Ownership groups can be messy with internal power struggles.

or

One billionaire who has completely unchecked authority.

Both have potential to suck.

So how is this going to work?

Current rules state the majority owner must own at least 30% of a franchise.

If Byron liquidated everything he owns, he could only buy 22% (assuming a $2B price).

Are they going to give him a huge discount or something or his he taking on a massive pile of debt.

Edit: The team is worth $3B.

Broncos are worth way more than $2B.  Forbes has them worth 3.75b.

    • it's pretty simple IMO.  The Tepper Panthers are the most unsuccessful professional sports in all of sports.  The problem isn't the posters here have changed.  The product dictates the atmosphere more than anything.  In reality, the daily convos about THE worst team in all of pro sports on a fanatics site....is going to feature harsh and critical convo.  Only one entity can actually change that.  It's the Carolina Panthers football team.
    • Yes message boards will always include that sort of stuff… However, this place has been a cess pool since the team took Bryce Young over CJ Stroud. It becomes a problem when it is accepted and promoted, which it has been here (even by at least one mod). Many posters sole purpose on this board is to try to dunk on others for having different opinions. We just had one write a novella on how talking about Bryce Young’s game winning drives “needs to stop”…after a win. They don’t want real conversation. It “needs to stop”. There are many posters here who literally only show up after losses to dead thread and try to dunk on others about the QB (MRenshaw is an easy example). I really don’t see much of that happening the other way around. There’s too many people that would rather the team be bad so they can feel justified for constant doom and gloom and negative opinions. It’s been pointed out by many over the past couple years. This just isn’t a place to have football discussions anymore because of the constant hyperbole. If you don’t subscribe to “Bryce Young is the worst QB ever who can’t throw the ball further than 5 yards and is the reason why we lose any game we lose and doesn’t help in any game we win”, then you are labeled a Bryce Young Stan.
    • if you believe he is watching every NFL game.....every week.....go right ahead.  I get it, he said something you like.  But that's like believing the talking heads on the ESPN shows are watching all the games.  You think Stephen A is watching the Panthers every Sunday too?  If Stephen A needs to go on First Take he certainly can pretend like he has watched every snap any player on the roster has taken lol.   No one is that isn't a Panther fan has been watching the 9-25 career go down every Sunday.  Or even a lot of Sunday's.  You know who knows more about Bryce Young than Long? The collective huddle.  What they are reviewing is stat sheets, highlights and in summaries.  It's an old formula lol.
