It still just blows my fugin' mind they picked up the 5th year option on Darnold.

It really doesn’t make much sense. Darnold would have to put up numbers he hasn’t shown capable of to be worth 19m/yr. It was better to gamble on the side that he wouldn’t to that great on top of letting him play on a contract year to light a fire on his ass. If he had magically put up a 20 to 25 td season and played hardball as an FA let him be another team’s problem since he probably threw 20+ picks on top of that.

Yeah that’s what everyone said about Brady, that he was getting older and was done. Those two years he kicked our ass, I don’t want Bucs getting any of those qbs.

If the biggest concern with Deshaun Watson were that he was getting older, I don't think too many people would have a problem.

There's...other issues.

Build the O-line in the draft ! Trade down if possible .   If a QB falls to a lower 10-15 pick then take a shot keeping the extra picks to build the O-line .  If we don't pick up QB in the draft just wait for a QB to be cut from another team (maybe Carson Wentz) . We keep our draft picks and give Darnald competition . At worst we have a good backup QB .   Cut Walker .

    • Apparently CSW lost his starting job to Thornton last year. If he can stay healthy I bet Thornton keeps that NB position.
    • I member him staying after practices with only to see he was wearing heavy weight vest, one of his trademarks. He also put in 10 years, right? People forget he was the ST stud that called the snap and made sure everyone lined up right. He was one of the "glue" guys that bought his "lunch pail" to work.... He was a willing solider, all teams need a couple of them. He blocked for sooo many panthers RBs- Davis, lane, Williams, foster, goings and when there was huge injuries he took over the starter duties and had a couple 100 yard games. If you followed hoover, he took the perfect RB path cause he was just a slow heavy one himself....
    • Walker likely depends on a couple of things. What exactly did Dan promise him, to start with.  How much other interest he actually had for a starter job at high pay is another question. It isn’t outside the realm of possibility that he could stay on as a swing tackle waiting to take Moton’s spot when it opens.    I can’t get myself to consider Icky as a viable anything until we see him back on the field.     Hunt seems to be a team player and good guy but I don’t think he is worth what he is being paid. I have him tentatively earmarked for cap causality in the near future.
