Is there another Kaepernick I am unaware of, or are we talking about the guy that got benched for Blane Gabbert?

It would get us a lot of media attention until the actual games start and everyone realizes he is not any better than Darnold or PJ.

Dude, lets forget the fact that he never knelt for the anthem or any of this until he was benched for being a bad QB.  Nobody wants to remember that fact

He needs to be in camp somewhere so that this story can be resolved.

If he's awful, so what the story ends. If he's not awful, he gets to spend his last few viable playing years on a roster.

I just don't want the "what if ..." stories continuing for the next decade.

JFC

It will be amazing, one day, for Kap to finally sign and prove just how utterly mediocre he is.

But, even then, the poli-stans will make excuses for him.

Which is why he will VOLUNTARILY never play again… because, without playing, his poli-provided “legend” will remain intact and the poli-money will just continue to ROLL in.

Goddam fugging GENIUS for such a mediocre QB. My props to his creativity and ability to take advantage of other’s naivety and stupidity.

Kap wants the "what if" stories.  He will never allow himself to actually play and ruin the fantasy.

Not true he's been fighting to get back in but racist owners are the reason he's not back. Let's go get him!

If it gets us out of the train wreck that would be a trade for Watson, I'm all for it.

Would he take $10 million on a one year prove it deal? Put an option for a second and third season for us in the contract and we can trade him away if the opportunity presents itself and set those years at $20 million each.

Worst that could happen is that we have the bad season we're already predicting.

Best is that we find out he can still play.

    • Word is that Lawrence showed up and weighed in at nearly 400 pounds for his Bengals medical check. I'd find a reason to fail him. Blood type tested as bacon grease. Fail. We've all seen what happens when a dominant huge, explosive DT can't manage his weight. You're gonna age like milk. Looking like Kris Jenkins 2.0.
    • Hard to interpret some of Brugler's opinions. Capable of running a robust route tree sounds like a lazy thing to say - I'm sure just about every slot TE is capable of running a full route tree... I want to know if he is currently able to (which from tape leads me to a no). Granted, it's pretty common for most receivers/TE not having a full route tree developed before they get drafted. Agility/acceleration after the catch hasn't shown up on his tape (at least his Oregon tape) for those dig/out breaking routes while it has for the seam and slant routes. Agree he has a good physical build and he is very good running seam routes. His build definitely helps him to shield defenders and create a large target point for the QB. Drops were a concern, but it could be focus drops just like T-Mac was/is prone to. Run blocking is an accurate statement, but again, we have only seen him run block in the slot/backfield - inline blocking is a whole different animal. With his athleticism, he definitely has a high ceiling. I just think he also has a low floor and don't like taking that big of a risk on a mid 1st rounder. I think this is a deep TE draft and would much rather target one in the 3rd or later. He's very boom or bust to me - bust in terms of being worth a 1st round pick, not an out of the NFL in a few years type bust. I feel like he gives me Evan Engram vibes. Not saying that Evan Engram was/is a bad NFL player, just that most people would agree he shouldn't have been drafted in the 1st.
