How dangerous is Willis as a runner? What makes him special?

My question is why I would want a "right-handed Michael Vick?"  Vick could run....but he was not accurate enough of a passer to hit the broad side of a barn if he was standing inside the thing with the doors closed.

And I would want a right-handed version of that to be my QB?

Not a bad question

I've just seen him get ran down from behind by random small program LBs too many times to believe any 4.3 talk. You don't see guys with that type of speed playing Liberty's opponents getting caught from behind hardly ever.

Do you really think if he was could run a really impressive time he wouldn't do it?

My honest guess is that he is actually a 4.55-4.65 guy. I think he is far less fast, hence why he didn't run.

Which....honestly who gives a fug? He isn't a WR. If he has a crazy arm(he does) AND he is able to read the field, who cares?

Vick in a modern NFL offense is a scary thought. Don't kid yourself.

I will pull for him as I pulled for teddy etc, but I will not hesitate to point out we have now fuged up 3 straight first round picks

I just dont see rhule taking a developmental qb at 6 with his ass on the line and willis not going to play

Drafting our next QB should have been in motion as early as 2020. You can talk about developmental as much as you want but rookie QB's are getting starting time early now. Whomever we take this year or next will not just be riding the pine regardless if Rhule is still the coach.

Sorry but Pickett can't sniff this level of play. In one year Strong threw more TDs than TWO Pickett years COMBINED.

STRONG 2022

What round do they think this guy could be had in? Both his stats and your post has me interested now as well

I feel like people seem to underrate Willis's ability as a runner... I see lazy comparisons to Johnny football guys who run a 4.7. People have a hard to comparing Willis to a guy because we really have never seen a guy with his blend of skills. This writer has him top 5 all-time as a runner from the position. If your that good at something that makes you special.

He's not Vick or Jackson elite speed, but he's faster than Josh allen and Russell Wilson. He runs with a power neither of those guys can come close 2(vick and jackson).Willis was second in broken tackles last season with legs like tree trunks its not hard to see why.

So he's basically being compared to his draft class.  Earth shattering!

    • Damn I liked A'Shawn too. This is basically a heads up we're planning on cutting you move.  Robinson wasn't the best but I loved his attitude and effort on the field. He held that entire dline together when Brown went down iirc..granted we finished that season as the worst rushing defense in modern NFL history.  If Wharton would have performed up to atleast half of his salary last season, I'd feel a little better about it. We do need that cap space though.
    • 13. Carolina is coming. The Panthers are well thought of around the league. Their "process" seems sound. I think their off-season will be very interesting to keep an eye on. They made the playoffs, but they're not yet knocking on the door. (Offense was 26th in EPA/play.) I think it's imperative they don't overestimate where they are in their build. They can't throw a ton of money around in FA to "make a run now". They need to be intentional about building a solid foundation. (IMO) And from what I know about the team... I think they will be. Sidenote: I have my eye on offense there, not defense. They HAVE to leave next season with a strong opinion on Bryce Young. They need to put pieces around him to do that. Can't be left wondering what he would have looked like with "better OL play" or "more pass catchers". They have to know. (That part is purely my opinion. No one told me that.) https://x.com/lindsay_rhodes/status/2027212533417869499?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
    • Because this DL is completely reliant on Brown being available and being a stud. Without him we were the worst D in history. The Wharton signing last year reeked of desperation. He just isn't a great fit for us schematically and I think we panicked a little bit when we missed out on Milton Williams who would have been a great fit.
