It seems unlikely that we will take a QB at 6th imo. Even if there is a run on OTs we'll still have an excellent non-QB prospect fall in our lap, and at that point we might be able to trade down or select him. Passing on Fields last draft could be a preview of what's to come in the 2022 draft.

The 2023 draft is going to be loaded with better QB prospects than this draft from what I understand. Letting Sam have his last shot at becoming our franchise QB in 2022 is actually a good idea. Sam will have a better understanding of our system, and an improved o-line. If Sam runs the 2022 season into the gutter, then we'll be at a high position in the 2023 draft to select a great QB prospect. That's how you can end up in the Super Bowl in a few seasons with a great QB still under his cheap rookie contract. And If Sam goes out and kicks ass in 2022, then we have our franchise QB.

The value, for the 10th time, is at OT and DE in the top 6.  Not QB.

To get value, we would take an OT, or trade down with someone wanting a top DE

People kill me with these the value is here and all this. Guess what. Value is for people who have enough all ready. You don't go shopping for a luxury car when you riding a bike. We know the tackles are safer and probably better but if you don't have a guy to build around that value doesn't really matter. 

The value of a qb isn't just in that. Your valuing that qb vs all the other guys you  can sign on his rookie contract vs a tackle.

Exactly, no one wants to see this. Chance your QB whether at 6 or 16, it literally does not matter if they hit.

What does “getting it done” mean though? Besides this year where he was hurt the entire season he definitely got it done by browns standards

He hasn't been getting it done which is why he is on the way out. Obviously you don't let a guy walk who was winning or you had confidence in winning you playoff games.  He hadn't been getting it done enough I suppose.

Even if Baker was performing at an Alex Smith level in KC, if a talent like Watson comes available, you go after him. Watson can likely get you to a SB repeatedly, and that's what the ultimate goal is.
