This is the only plausible reason to pass on a LT. And I love other guys sauce and even KT to be exact. Even Hamilton... but those Willis is the only 1.

What about for a trade down and pick up another position while gaining additional picks, then signing big man brown as a solid vet stop gap for a couple years?

I agree with your opinion as well but I’m not sure I’d be mad if we landed someone like brown and filled other holes in the draft.

It'd tell me that they either jave someone on their radar or they believe Brady Christensen can do the job.

I don’t think anyone in this draft is a can’t miss so if we traded back/ acquired a T or QB via trade/ strengthened the Edge and LB positions in some combination of moves, I’ll be hopeful.

Agree with this. Especially if we picked up a pick next year in the process. Stock the cupboard for the next HC if Rhule doesn’t get it together.

I think the thought of sitting on their hands during day 2 will cause them to leave Neal or Cross on the board, trade back, and grab a lesser OL like Penning.  Then they might trade up for Howell---if the QBs fall, and I think they will---we could be looking at something like that.

It bothers me because both could bust.  We have never had good luck with small school OL here, and if Howell busts, there goes what could be a decade of LT bliss.

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
