Cams not bad at reading defenses but he’s not good at it either. A decade of holding the ball too long and throwing into double coverage should be proof enough I’d think 🤷‍♂️

He tried to force it when our guys couldn’t get separation (which was higher than most teams). Pre snap reads, audibles, and knowing what the defense was doing were all things he was solid at. I love the clip where he mocks Clay Matthew’s about watching film and immediately throws a TD to CMC.

Cam basically said he isn't coming back to another 5 win team. He wants to be part of winning.

That is not the Matt Rhule Panthers.

I don't get the impression that Cam wants to play for Rhule.

I also don't get the impression Rhule wants to coach Cam again.

(Fitterer might want him, but Rhule not so much)

Unless I've missed it I've seen nothing to indicate Cam is interested in being a mentor and honestly he doesn't owe us that. He has been wise with his earnings and has plenty of options should he decide a backup role is not for him. But he does not owe it to us to pass the symbolic torch after how we moved on from him the first time. Just let the man live we can't reside in these daydreams forever.

Cam is a standup guy, hard worker, and most importantly a great teammate for everyone on the team. I’ve yet to hear anything but massive praise for him as a teammate, Sam is useless in regards of Coralls development aside from competition for starting. Sign Cam have all three battle it out, and regardless of who wins you have a great mentor in Cam and a honestly really solid competition with Cam, Corall, and Darnold. We kept 3 qbs last year with one of them being PJ, I think keeping three is the move going forward in 2022 as well.

Cam, even now, is a better QB than Sam, but I have trouble seeing them make this move.  I hate the way things played out with Cam. I just hate it.

Folks want Cam to be dumb so bad. It fits into how they feel. With his diagnosis, there are no redeeming qualities to Cam as a QB at all, and we all know that isn’t the case. You had Olsen and others comment how Cam did this and that with the offense, yet some folks still can’t get past their feelings and thoughts.

I don’t really want Cam back, but there is no reason to trash him.

I think its amazing what Cam accomplished given his faults ie not being to constantly place the ball in specific spot. I was shocked they brought him back, but it was a hail mary for ticket sales and playoff hopes... just did not work. My deal is now, Ben Mccadoo runs the QB show and if he wants Cam here, I would support that.

Im a panther fan faaaaaaar more than Rhule hater or Cam questioner......

Maybe Cam is not fit for 53 roster spot, but if willing to help a rookie QB with similar traits, why is that a issue if Cam wants to help?

Cam doesn’t want to come back here. It unfortunate but it is what it is

Cam wants to play for a playoff team, but playoff teams do not want him. Its simple. The starting job is another issue, Rhule is not the best judge...but Sucking Sam was started over Cam while still in the playoff race. I doubt he wants the gimmick role.

Being asked to play the Taysom Hill role is cool if it's for a potential playoff team.

For a rebuilding team that's just hoping to get to 500 to save the coach's ass? Not so much

Comes down to whether he believes McAdoo + the new o-line can make the difference.

SMH. Cam got the ball twice at the goal line against Arizona. The other five actual starts were 7 TDs in 5 games he played, not 9. That’s not good especially when your QB is the goal line option.

Sam sucks, we know that but Cam looked terrible after the I’m back. Sam had 10 TDs in the first 4 games, does that mean he’s good? No, but Cam’s not the same guy we loved before. I loved Cam as my QB, dude was incredible but he’s not there anymore, just let it go.

We need to be spending time on deciding if Corral can be the guy or if we need to draft one in 2023. Bringing Cam back to compete just spend more cap and prevents Corral from getting every snap necessary.

Cam actually looked really good In his first start especially factoring everything in.    He carried that momentum from AZ to Charlotte.

But the D couldn’t handle Heinike.  And it took Matt Rhule a half of football and getting abused to realize Gilmore should be on the one good WR.

A week later he looked horrible.

In the weeks that followed, he looked mostly average.

Again, not saying Cam is what he was, because as a passer, he clearly isn't, but it was clear the entire offense was dysfunctional to a degree I have never recalled seeing in an offense before...  From the playcalling to the protection, anyone who lined up under center was going to look far worse than they actually are.  All things considered, Cam did an admirable job with what he was working with (or against).  Where he looked average to good outside of the Miami game, Darnold was putting up "all-time worst passer in NFL history"-level numbers over a 3 week stretch in the same conditions.

I'm convinced had Brady been playing in this offense and under that staff last season the headlines would be "He needs to retire before he tarnishes his legacy."  It was that bad.
