Matt Rhule Presents The Process

Not to mention any clips of his clinics or whatever

I don't think we had any idea why we were losing last year.  That should serve as a great reset for Rhule, and maybe it did since we now have some coaches who have been around long enough to know what NFL stands for.

But that is why my attitude is what it is.  In 2020, we lost as many games (okay 10 instead of 11), but the team was trying.  They looked like they were "leaving it all on the field."  They gave their all, and it just wasn't enough.  We knew that, because the roster did not have enough talent.  In 2021, it was like we were looking for reasons to wave the white flag every week, after about the mid-point of the season.

That kind of persona probably does work better at the college level because you know that in the three or four years, the players you're talking to will be gone.

Definitely. Between that and the fact you have some significant control over their future in the sport at the college level.  Not buying in can cost them playing time, which costs them exposure, which makes them less visible to NFL scouts.  In the NFL, the only way to have that control over a player's future shoots the team in the foot, as well, and then the player moves on anyway.

How'd you feel about the Watson lawyer's comments today? 😆

Those were another one of those "did he really just say that" moments.

Then there is BS meter pegger from Starbucks (from CNBC), who is having a complaint filed against them with the National Labor Relations Board about closing a location that had recently voted to unionize:

Starbucks said that it opens and closes stores “as a regular part” of its operations. “Our goal is to ensure that every partner is supported in their individual situation, and we have immediate opportunities available in the market,” a Starbucks spokesperson said in an email to CNBC.

As I tell my wife, that's great.  Now would you like to answer the question, Senator?

Speculation is he may have done a lot to sink his case.

I'm guessing Hardin has realized by now that the whole "he didn't do nothin" story isn't gonna fly. He's attempting to pivot to "well, what he did wasn't that bad", but I'm not so sure that's a winning strategy.

Pretty soon he will get to the argument used by the defense attorneys for Mike Tyson.  They essentially argued that their client was such a scumbag that anybody that associated with him got what they deserved.  The jury didn't think much of that assertion.

The Chewbacca defense is probably a better option.

"Get 1-percent better every day."  When does he kick that off, himself?

I've worked in, for, and around an agency in DC for 33 years.  My wife has worked in public relations for 25+ years.  I have a strong BS meter in my head, and hearing that interview it was pegged at the max.  It may take hours for it to come back down.

Rhule could be in Congress.

This is a post of somebody whom heard exactly what he wanted to hear.

As a motivational concept he is totally correct. And he does a good job with talking about how to improve and get better. The problem is he thought he knew Xs and Os in the NFL. He could be fine if he stays in his lane and let's the real NFL guys do their coaching jobs.

Rhule said as much during the season. Don’t remember what game it was after but he said that this wasn’t happening last year. He was referring to us at least being competitive in 2020 and not being constantly blown out like in 2021.

    • Idk man, I think it’s necessary.  There’s people working 9-5s everyday that get told poo about what they aren’t and what they’re not capable of and they’re working for scraps.  These guys are making millions.  People are watching and invested because their team and fandom is a part of their identity and a big source of pride.  When someone like Bryce comes in and is given chance after chance after chance after proving he is not worthy of the position he’s being gifted, and he continues to be the biggest reason above any that we are losing, yeah…  I think it’s fair to call a spade a spade.  Am I saying Bryce the person is trash?  Bryce the person is a piece of poo?  Absolutely not.     I came up in an era, especially in basketball, where if you were fuging up people heckled the poo out of you.  I played in rec leagues as a teen where the fuging parents were calling kids trash and yelling poo like “TURNOVER!!!  TURNOVER!!!”  “CANT DRIBBLE!”  “CANT SHOOT!”  And that’s adults screaming that poo to kids like we were in the fuging Rucker lol.🤣🤣🤣  I went on to play basketball at a collegiate level and with professional players in different settings.  What those experiences as a kid taught me was to see if there is any merit to what people are saying, and if there is, then work my ass off til they can’t say that anymore.  Come back better, tougher, harder.  And I did.  If kids can figure that poo out, an adult calling another adult who is bad at his job while making millions and millions of dollars will be just fine.
    • I have tried to like this team, lord knows I have tried. BY9 is a nice young man, if I had a daughter he can take her to prom, but he ain't QB1 and he's not Cam or Delhomme Chuba is a average RB, he isn't Stephen Davis, he isn't J-Stew McMillan has the makings of a good WR, but he isn't 89/Moose D. Brown is a great player, but if the game was on the line I want Kris Jenkins       I miss this brand of football, even in the bad Jake games the games were entertaining It has been nearly 8 years now of watching numb football
    • I'm not so sure. Something about the whole Frank/Bryce situation seemed off from day 1. Bryce didn't fit Frank's QB mold as well as Stroud, then he basically gives up when Bryce is named starter in preseason but gets virtually no reps in games. Then he looks completely unprepared and Dalton steps in in Seattle, has a decent game under immense pressure, and it's right back to Bryce. All his mechanics are terrible and he's having the worst rookie season ever and Frank doesn't bench him?  You dont have to be a conspiracy theorist to know Bryce wasn't ready to be a day 1 starter. Everything with Bryce, then coaches, and the FO seemed forced.
