Indefinite would be an interesting twist.

I still personally believe it will be only a season.

I makes sense. They did something similar with Myles Garrett. He was suspected the rest of the year and indefinitely pending the following year.

That would never hold up in Court. They cannot leave a punishment "open ended" and if they did, lawsuits would be filed by both Watson and the NFLPA. There are structures for suspensions and I doubt any of them say "12 games, but we will play the rest by ear". Leaving is open ended incentivizes new allegations that may not necessarily be true, either. I know false accusations occur rarely but if there was a case that would get them, it would be this.

Maybe the rules are different now but it has certainly happened in the past...

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
