Skip Bayless on the Panthers

It’s pretty obvious the talking heads on ESPN are setting it up so if Baker does well. YAY!! Baker saved the day, and if he doesn’t, well the panthers are the worst team in the league. What’d you expect?

It's real.

I disagree with him though. I think the best free agent addition from this offseason is Denzel Perryman 😐

For about two seconds, I was like "Why is Scot posting old sh¡t?" Then I had to look at it a little closer and listen again.

That's terrible. I hope that something isn't going on cognitively with Bayless. Hopefully it's just a case of him being an underprepared tool.

Skip also doesn't think Matt Rhule and the clownshow (his words but also mine lol) will actually play Baker right away.  Thinks Baker doesn't come on until week 5 or so after another Sam implosion.

No way in hell Baker don't start Week 1.

We sure could use him right about now actually. Our LBs are going to be a huge weak link all season. Hopefully Luvu steps into a starting role and plays well.

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
