Was the context about the QB competition? The quote would make more sense if that was the context.

I think he is saying that whoever the players rally around will be the starting QB.

The Office Reaction GIF by NETFLIX

Even if this is about the 'competition' it is still just beyond pathetic. One of those guys broke down on the field last year but he 'may still have it'. If this is some ruse to increase Sam's value then it is all even funnier.

I also don't see or hear anything about Corral in this competition. The nicest thing I think I will ever say about Rhule is that he is hilarious even if I know it is not intentional.

Similar comment from yesterday

"To me, my job is not to pick the starting quarterback," Rhule said Monday. "The players will do that with the way they play. My job is to make sure that we have really good players in the room, which we do, and make sure that they have opportunities. So it'll be a fun ride and when we know we'll know."

More importantly, Walker's name barely comes up at all in the discussion of QBs.  That is a small consolation, but at least it is something.

Matt Rhule + microphone + words = always bad

I mean, it is his job to pick the QB.  That’s one of his primary jobs.  To pick the QB who gives the Panthers in the best chance to win.  He is suppose to evaluate their play, intangibles, leadership, etc in a competition and then he picks a starting QB.

    • Oh please with the wallowing in victimhood I'm going to take my ball and go home routine. You were just in here referring to people as super weird haters because they don't completely agree with your borderline delusional spin on what Bryce Young is and isn't as a fourth year starter. We can hope by some miracle that Bryce Young will actually be able to lead a formidable passing offense this season without being irrational homers and pretending verfiable data and what we have seen with our own two eyes doesn't tell us exactly what he has been to this point which is someone who moves the ball at a historically low rate.
    • I am curious who's behind all of this though. A video and photos from years ago surfacing? Someone has a vendetta and is driving this PR campaign. I'm loving it, but I'd also like to know who said mystery figure is.
    • I say positive things about Bryce when he earns them. Which he has a handful of times. It is all here and on the record but your lobby won’t focus on that or the flat out truth inside of our critical comments.  It is a constant thing with him and his backers - one or two good things and people are trying to extrapolate that to proof we should commit to him, while ignoring or making excuses for the larger portion of his track record.  When he is able to consistently turn in franchise QB extension worthy outings the tone of the posts will reflect that.  I have already said that if he would play like he did in the WC as often as we need him to, I would be okay with keeping him.  See you don’t want to talk about that though because it shows actual fair minded evaluation not stanning.
