Ron left his entire first string in until they scored.... they had a grand total of four yards vs our first string D and a turnover.... "Backups didn't have any pressure" dude can't help but clown himself... 

 

Baker played a great drive Sammy got a TD starting in the redzone.... it was 10-0 when are starters sat.

I would have to go back and look but instead of darnold in year 2 he had his pick of jones or fields (who I wanted).  He could have bought himself crazy time by say picking fields and then sitting him for a year.   He would then have at least 2 more seasons and who knows past that.

 

edit- just looked at the 2020 qb draft   ooofff that is ugly

 

edit again to say - I am not suggesting sitting fields, I think he can play, just saying rhule could have done this and nobody would have batted an eye.

I agree there. If Fields or Jones turn out to be good (or at least better than Baker) Rhule’s goose is cooked. And maybe even Fitts.

If Fields, Jones, and any QB we passed on this year turn into something…yikes.

      Not only was it a wasted pick, but the Chiefs took Trey Smith 4 picks later and locked up their RG position for years for pennies.

      They know within 15 mins.  Many moons ago skins drafted Heath Shuler at like 5th overall and Gus Frerotte in the late rounds. You know the plan, its Heaths team. While on the same field with the same players and weather, Old OLman stink said within 15 minutes they knew Gus was the better QB. San Fran old shanny watched practice tapes and told the staff Brock Purdy was the best out the four QBs, jimmy was highest paid, lance was 3 firsts in the pile, and Brock was the clear best as the last pick in the NFL draft.... I didn't need 15 or players on the same field, I just knew like Bill said "he better walk on water", which he hasn't. I do blame tepper mainly for it, he spend the greater part of 2 year telling everyone Watson would be a panther......and fail....but a great fail...then Stanford turned panthers down.....tepper was beyond pissed and wanted a QB. He forced the trade and picked BY......and now by .....some grace of the gods formed a team with 4 QBs of no hope...... insane given the other roster spots.....
