Does Marshall Even Make The 53?

Watching the game tonight, I didn't even know Marshall was playing until Smitty said his name. After looking like a Gem in the preseason last year, he's done Jack Sh**. I know he's not had the best QB play, but then you look at Shi Smith who has put the work in and thrived with Baker under center.

I don't know if he'll be cut, but I could see them swapping him for Mims off the Jets.

Who cares where he was drafted if he sucks and can’t practice. Put the best 53 on the roster.

Swap TMJ and Shi Smiths draft spots and all is well. It's not hard to justify cutting a number 2 pick when your number 6 was a steal. I still wouldn't credit that to Rhule or Fitt but I'll take it

You wont credit Fitt, the guy who drafted him? What kind of dumbass logic is that?

I think that it's a legitimate question. Rhule seems to have soured on him, and I can't say that he's wrong. What I will say is that another team--maybe even Carolina North--would probably find out a way to actually maximize his talent (provided he ever gets enough practice).

    • What?!?!?! Chark's 1,000 yard season was 4 years before he played for us and he only had 525 yards in 15 games as our #1 WR.  Dude has 3,100 yards in 7 seasons, he's the literal definition of a JAG and you think he is better than half our current WR room? T-Mac is literally already better than Chark was at his peak, which again, was years before he ever even put on a Panthers uniform, and there is a real argument to be made that XL and Coker were both better as rookies than Chark was for us in his one season here.
    • Im glad we're starting low. It's nonsensical to put us at 28 IMHO based on objective things IMHO (I think 21-24) is far more appropriate but whatever. Washington was at the bottom last year FWIW.  In 2003, Sports Illustrated said our best chance to win the division was to transfer to the ACC. In 2015, everyone wrote us off as a team that snuck into the playoffs with a losing record in 2014 and lost our best WR in TC (Kelvin Benjamin). All these videos are fodder for conversation, but this prediction has no more validity than saying the Panthers are making the SB bc we're starting the season against the Jaguars again. If Bryce plays like he did down the stretch we will end up the season just fine. This roster is much better than it has been the last 2 seasons. No one knows who any season will ultimately end up, but this team is finally being built in the right way, and the idea that this roster can't compete this year is as insane as being it was when we were gaslit in 2023 that we were a rookie QB from winning the division with that roster.
