Matt Rhule has still not learned how to win close games.

You can’t blame one loss on a previous two year history when that one loss showed things that weren’t shown during those two years, like halftime adjustments and a team that didn’t roll over and quit when the teams from the past two years would have.

A loss is a loss is a loss.

The only thing not running in that situation would have done is leave Cleveland with timeouts to use as they drove further down the field for a much easier game winning FG attempt. Your all’s unwillingness to admit that the Panthers would have won with this strategy but for the two missed calls shows you just want to blame Rhule for everything.

No. It's not. It's the killer instinct, or lack there or..if.you get an opportunity for a guaranteed win you take it. You don't bet on your defense in this league anymore. You take every opportunity to win. Cleveland had a kicker nailing 70 yd FGs during WARMUPS. Come on. Get your head out of your ass.

Not to mention did you watch the rest of the game? Rhule was out coached from the start, until McAdoo actually put together a balanced game plan in the 4th. We kept doing the same thing on Offense, and surprised that the same results kept happening. Myles Garrett destroying our Rookie tackle, and Baker Running for his life. That's on coaching. You have got to pick up on stuff like that. And address it.

I knew when we played for that FG we were about to take an L, I called it in real time.

It was a bitch move that cost us a W, the refs were poo all day, no reason to leave it in their hands. We should have went for the TD.

How exactly would you propose going for the TD there? Passing? If they called a pass play and Baker threw an INT, this whole board would be bitching about Rhule not going for the easy points and lead. Rhule haters are always going to find something to bitch about. It has turned this board into a miserable place full of insufferable blowhards.

This team looked like absolute poo for a quarter and a half, yet it took the lead in a game in which they were down 14-0 and then 20-7. That’s something teams from the last two years never would have done. This team did, on defense, what should have been enough to win on the last drive. The fact remains that but for the refs poo calls on that drive, the Panthers are 1-0 right now.

Sorry but "at least we lost differently than how we used to" doesn't exactly excite me.

The fact remains if we don't decide to become bitches when we got in FG range we did not have to worry about the refs.

We handed the ball off 3 straight times on plays that were not designed to get any yards, that is unacceptable.

One of the biggest complaints against Rhule has been the lack of halftime adjustments, was it not? Another was the way games wherein the Panthers fell behind often turned into wide margin losses, right?

Both of those things changed in this game. While you are correct it is still a loss, it shows a progression from this staff that can bode well for the team going forward.
