That's the best running attack we'll see all year, strength vs weakness was always going to be a tough matchup.

Barkley just went for 164 yards at 9 yards a pop vs the Titans this weekend.  He looks pretty healthy and the exact type RB we aren't built to defend.  238 yards on the ground as a team.

Barkley

Kamara

Murray/Conner

Shannahan Running offense.

This weak run defense and sub optimal interior and linebacker play is gonna get hashed this year.

Chinn needs to be in the box at all times. We’re gonna have to play man on the outside and hope these young corners can hold their on.

for the record. The 8th pick in the draft from a few years ago needs to start pulling his weight. We should not be getting manhandled after spending a top ten pick on a defensive tackle. Browns a bust.

Let's see:

  • Giants - Barkley - Thicc boi in all the right ways for a RB. He will run a train on our defense
  • NO - Kamara - Stud
  • AZ - Connor, who is good but we always beat AZ for Jake's revenge so I am penciling this one in as a win regardless.
  • SF - Kyle Shannahan's offense that could get paraplegics 1k yard seasons. This will be an issue.
  • LA - Meh, nothing special here, we have a shot to stop the run
  • TB - LOL doesn't even matter we will lose
  • @ ATL - We have a shot
  • Cincy - Joe Mixon is a stud. bad matchup
  • ATL - We have a shot
  • BAL - The best Rushing team in the NFL. No shot
  • Denver - Dunno yet but they have a good 1-2 punch at RB, outlook not great
  • Seattle - We have a shot
  • Pitt - Harris went down, depending on the severity we have a shot
  • Detroit - Swift is about to go beast mode on the NFL. He's this season's breakout RB.
  • TB - Lol again, we lose
  • NO - Kamara again

So, looking at the schedule, I don't agree with you at all OP, and I am in fact, very pessimistic about our chances moving forward.

Feel for Derrick a little bit, his play has certain disappointed at times but he should have never been selected that high. DT without a pass rush skillset is never a top 10-15 pick. I still like him though and hopefully he gets better.

    • Another source: NFL Rumors: Hakeem Butler to Visit Panthers After UFL Success, Wade Phillips' Praise ZACH BACHAR JUNE 10, 2024 The Carolina Panthers are expected to conduct a workout with UFL wide receiver Hakeem Butler, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Butler recorded a league-leading 652 receiving yards as a member of the St. Louis Battlehawks. He was previously a fourth-round draft pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2019. After the Battlehawks were defeated by the San Antonio Brahmas in the XFL Conference title game, Brahmas head coach and longtime NFL coach Wade Phillips told the receiver that "I'm going to tell everybody in the NFL that I talk to that you need to be playing," via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. Despite the loss by St. Louis, Butler still hauled in six receptions for a team-high 59 receiving yards. The 28-year-old was named the 2024 UFL Offensive Player of the Year, as he was one of only two wideouts to have multiple games with at least 100 receiving yards. While the Panthers added Diontae Johnson and first-round rookie Xavier Legette to their wide receiver room in the offseason, they could still use some depth in the form of Butler. Carolina isn't opposed to picking up former UFL players, as Rapoport revealed on Thursday that the team is also "expected" to sign All-UFL receiver Daewood Davis. Although Butler was selected by the Cardinals in the 2019 draft, he did not play as a rookie due to a hand injury and only appeared in two regular-season games as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020. He did not record a catch. Butler signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2023 offseason, although he ultimately didn't make the team's regular-season roster. At 6'5", he has the frame to potentially make an impact in training camp and earn a shot at making Carolina's 53-man roster. If his workout goes well with the Panthers, Butler could give himself another chance to possibly return to the NFL.
    • They have all the rookies. The DC game has Ron though. With the new QB. It is weird.  pantherclaw, Bryce sort of is what he is, and in Madden he makes throws the real Bryce can’t make. Here and there. He ain’t ain’t a top QB in Madden though, lots of picks. aone of them lol was the throw that scares the hell out of me when he throws it, out to the boundary... quack quack.
