Quarterback is not our problem.  Teams with lesser QB's are finding ways to win.  The Falcons put up 27 on the Rams with Marcus Mariota at QB.  The Cowboys score 20 with Cooper Rush.  The Browns scored 30 with Brissett.

Honestly tired of the excuse that QB is our problem.  Rivera won five games with Kyle freaking Allen as his starting QB.  I'm not saying we're going deep in the playoffs with Baker as our QB.  I'm not sure Baker is the guy.  But he's not the reason we are where we are.

Yeah, all those batted balls haven't affected the game, nor missing wide open receivers (which he did in Cleveland), or the fact that he simply bails from the pocket immediately...that has nothing to do with us being where we are.

Baker may not be the only problem, but he's definitely a problem.

The OC version was under a long time offensive HC.  That was one of the most over the top micromanagers in coaching.

as HC McAdoo actually got to do whatever he wanted with the O.  And it was horrific.

I also think it is framed poorly to call those career years for Manning.   They weren’t really career years.  They sucked and couldn’t win.  And Manning har to pass all game because they sucked and were always trying to comeback.

Ok, yeah fair point, but they were career years in the sense that he set career highs in passing yards and passing touchdowns.  But damn, I just went back and looked at Elis stats, and he threw a poo ton of INTs some years.  He had 3 seasons with more than 20 picks, and 2 with more than 25.  27 is his career high.  Yikes.  But yeah, McAdoo ain't hitting on poo so far with this offense.

I dont' think anyone is really suggesting. I think it's more predicting that's what we do.

Example:

I want Sam back.. No I’m not joking or being sarcastic. He has more extensive knowledge of the playbook and we have a healthy cmc and slightly better O line than last year. Bet anything Sam will be starting next Sunday

I don't understand what McAdoo is doing with Moore and CMC.  It's bewildering how ineffective he's made them.  Brady at least had plays built into his rather bland playbook that were tailored to get them space and work with their strengths.

If anything, I think Brady may have had the right idea but it was way too simplified and easily figured out.

McAdoo just has the wrong idea.

He has been very underwhelming so far.

Or the fact is Rhule's a college coach and can't handle a complex offense so he's hired simplistic offensive coordinators

I would say that what Rhule does really doesn't effect offensive or Defense. He really doesn't have experience in either. It's probably why we have a big 10 DC.

I mean,  McAdoo was literally run out of the league from calling plays for being painfully predictable and unimaginative on offense.

Fair odds it’s largely just McAdoo being McAdoo.   And Rhule being Rhule.  It’s not a good combo given what we know of the two

I would bet money on that.

He's just another Teddy, Sam, Cam/Sam, scapegoats for a coach who knows he's out of his league. He didn't even try to groom his own rookie QB to start in the NFL. He went full retread.

You never go full retread.

    • I think he has closed the gap a little bit between him and a backup coming in and badly showing him up.  But not so much that someone could not come in and make the offense look like Andy did in Seattle week 3 2023. That poo was night and day to Bryce was putting out.  So, they are in a sense playing with fire by getting rid of Dalton and actually trying to bring in someone to push him.
    • Some people have been beaten down so long they have no standards. Can't be reasoned with.
    • Getting better, might be fairly charitable. We finished 1-3 with the pressure on. That is for sure not trending up.  I don’t see a clear run of performances that prove he has taken it to another level. Not yet.  I would say he played really well in the WC game. And folded on that last series where we still had a chance. I think he threw one good ball. That last series is the kind of thing a player is supposed to learn from and not repeat. We have to see him do it before we can credit him for doing it.    I would also say he has not done enough of playing at his ceiling and what we should expect as the game in game out norm is still not established.  We gonna get MNF in SF or we gonna get the WC game? Seattle or Atlanta yardage record?   Besides that he has three years of horrendous play to start the season hanging over him. Are we going to get that again or will he be over that? We can’t know that. Mind you, that isn‘t two of three it is three of three he has yet to play well to start the year as a pro. Ofer.    So, many questions remain.    As far as weapons and help… said it before. Fix the OL so we can protect him.  It is time for a 1.1 pick in his 4th season, third year in the same offense, to elevate the players we have given him. You can’t keep up the level of investment dedicated to propping him up, you have to prop up the defense too and get some balance.
