If the Panthers lose this game you can stick a fork in this season because it's done.  It's all but done anyway so a loss will make it official after only 3 games.  What a sad state of affairs we find ourselves in.

Rhule actually thought the season would be determined after a playoff loss and so did a couple huddlers who shall remain nameless.

kind GIF

The more rational analytical huddlers are saying I told you so.

Except Tepper is looking for any reason to keep him. We must lose and become the worst team in the NFL.

It has been put out by a lot of media guys (can we trust them? Maybe, maybe not) that rhule has to make the playoffs. Doesn’t seem like he’ll even be close as of right now. Tepper may want to be right, but he will be forced to let go following this season.

Rhlue has a 3% chance to make the playoffs if he loses today based off the history in the Super Bowl era.  If that happens and we lose next week to go 0-4...well, only the 1992 Chargers have been able to dig out that hole to see the postseason.

Rhule on 0-4 and making the playoffs: 'it's not impossible because it's been done before"

Only if we perform very poorly. His current comments basically say Rhule just has to win more than last year.

    • Obviously the new FO has only been in charge for a couple years but they have not broken from past trends.
    • Rookie Bryce: Mingo, Thielen, DJ Chark as his WRs ...we won 2 games.  2nd Year Bryce: XL is drafted and becomes Bryce's #1 target in 24...we won 5 games (kinda suprising tho) 3rd Year Bryce: Tmac is drafted and becomes Bryce's #1 with Coker in the mix in '25.. we managed to win the division and make the playoffs. ..8 wins 4th Year Bryce: TBD ..... but we do need another reliable option at the position. Maybe not at 19 (unless its Cooper or Lemon) but somewhere within the top 100.   We are one injury away from reverting back to 23-24 status or worse. And if we dont happen to get substantial gains after this draft atleast we'll have the offense in a great spot to drop in our future QB.  Tmac, Coker, Leggette, Horn Jr, Metchie. I'd be willing to rock with the above but they could def stand an upgrade. An argument could be made at TE too.
    • You're also underestimating Calipari in those scenarios. Calipari can say to a kid "I've put more impactful players into the NBA than any school over the last 20 years".  Michael Malone can tout that he was run out of the NBA for not understanding impactful players.  I wouldn't count any chickens yet on top recruiting classes and deep tournament runs.  On a side note, can't remember where, but saw some interview where the guy was saying the NBA All Star Game should be the USA vs World vs Kentucky - and then proceeded to list the players in the league from Kentucky who would legit give an All Star team a run for their money.  Pretty impressive what Cal did at Kentucky, not impressive on him not getting more nattys.
