To be honest I don't expect us to finish nearly that high. Our defense alone imo will win the panthers 2 to 4 more games against teams with similarly poor qb play.  Probably another 5 win season and picking around 6 to 12 again.

No we won’t only scoring 3-10 points    We are the worst team in the league.

I think the best move they made was hiring Nick Sirianni.

For all the jokes about how hoofy he looked and sounded in his early pressers and the chuckles about him using rock paper scissors to test players competitiveness, he's proving the doubters wrong so far.

Shane Steichen is the one who deserves the credit, but Sirianni we'll get it. Let's not forget that the Eagles stripped Sirianni of playing calling duties only four games into the season last year.

That's how you raid other teams right there.

Saints (Loomis) reached out to them. It was that whole deal flip that everyone got worked up about here that the Saints were gonna jump us to grab a QB. This was during the period where there were actual people thinking Malik Willlis would go 1 overall.

Fair point, but you also have to credit Sirianni for hiring Steichen.

One of the things I always do a deep dive on with potential head coaches is who their potential assistants might be. It was a big reason why I was high on Nate Hackett. He had connections through himself and his dad to build a staff of super well-established coaches.

Instead, he went and hired a bunch of guys who weren't anywhere near as experienced as he could have, with more than one being completely new to their role 😕

I do give him credit for hiring a coach to help with game management. That probably required him swallowing his pride, and not too many NFL coaches are big on doing that.

Granted it's still early, but that's definitely not the only thing he needs to fix.

I’d take Anderson and pair him with Burns before drafting Young.

Young scares the hell out of me.  Stroud is crazy good.  I watched Levis on Sat and I cannot figure out what the knocks on him are.  Too old?  McCall is putting together an insane level season as well.

We stay in the top 5 then we will have options.  After the meat of this upcoming schedule I think we will know if #1 pick is obtainable.

    • This is about getting open and YAC....and the QB we have.  You basically are just highlighting average depth when targeted vs 2 players. .  And yeah, I often say AT is a small slow reliable TE in terms of what he does for us.   That's what he is.   I think a couple of you want to make this into a Renfrow argument.   I'm a Renfrow fan.  Renfrow does not check the box of what a BY O needs either at the slot.  Renfrow just a niche roleplayer at this level.  it's easy to look up how horrific AT is with the ball in his hands and in terms of getting open.....and it's also easy to look up what a low ceiling of an offense the steady AT diet produces w/ BY.
    • The one time he's actively tried to lose was the best we've ever done.
    • I simply acknowledge BY is the QB.  And just like we did when we drafted him.....the type O you would need to setup around him for success was always pretty simple.  But we have done virtually the opposite.  XL dropping some passes isn't why we were ranked the 32nd O and 30th passing the past 2 years.  *Ricky Prohel was brought up only in regards to role function he served on the team.  Niche/specialist.   He wasn't eating up the snaps in the O.    AT should have a similar snap %. People could MAUL Ricky Prohel and put hands all over him.   We got to the Super Bowl in part because we were mauling guys (our slot CB).   You can't do that now.  AT has a MUCH easier life and still can't get open.  Or run.    If you live in 3 WR sets, with a weak armed QB, and you choose to put someone who can't get open or run in the slot.......well, your are going to have a weak pass O.  That's by design IMO.
